Finish Dishwashing Detergent

I bought a new dishwasher two years ago when we moved into a new home. After a few months I realized I HATED it. There seemed to be a gray crud that leaked from underneath the door. We could not figure out what it was or where it came from. I always rinsed the dishes well, so it was NOT food particles. A technician came and checked out and could not figure it out either. He gave me some cleaner to run through it periodically. Wash the dishwasher ???? Well, I went to an appliance store ready to buy a new dishwasher (after two years of use and a good brand). Had a great salesman who said he would love to sell me a $1,000 dishwasher, but I should change detergent first. I had always used the regular Finish with the little ball for rinse. He told me to use the Finish Quantum Max Detergent which works! The other did not work. And, he told me to actually add the liquid drying agent for spots. Don't count on the little red ball. IT WORKED , and I have not had the problem since. Needless to say, I think this stuff is great !!!!!
