Nice garbage can
By M. Lang on Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2020
I purchased this for us in my new kitchen. I have all stainless steel appliances, so the appearance matches well. I have been pleased. It is nicely constructed. I like the removable insert. The lid also works very easily. I did initially find it hard to hold the lid open. However, after an email to the vendor, they explained that one needs to lift up on the lid as it is coming up, before it reaches past about 30-60 degrees open. Then one can pull it back to stay open very easily. If you use the foot pedal to fully open the lid, and then try to push it back to stay, it is very difficult. It comes with an odor-reducing filter which I suppose helps but is hard for me to judge. I have not noticed any odors with the lid closed. All in all, this is a very good product that looks good and functions well. I prefer to use larger trash bags that do not stretch tight around the insert. There is a little clearance around the edge of the insert for the top of the bag to fold over and down for a neat fit. However, I initially had problems getting the edge of the bag to stay put while I lowered the insert into the can. I easily solved this by getting some larger rubber bands. I now fold the top of the bag around the top of the insert, and wrap it with a large rubber band. This holds it in place as I lower the insert. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an attractive, well made garbage can.

Not worth it, does not honor warranty
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2023
So I don't usually write reviews but wanted to leave one more as a buyer beware. I bought mine and was hoping I finally found a trash can that would look nice along with functional. Within 3 months of owning it, the ring on the inside broke with normal usage which was disappointing. So now the plastic trash bin that fits inside, started catching and getting jammed under the ring and got to the point I needed a flat head screwdriver to pry it out. No fun when the trash is full or anytime, I got myself more than once with the screwdriver. Im not sure any trash can is worth drawing blood over but I am sure if there were vampires around they would have been very happy with my misfortune with the trash can. At this point I filed for the warranty and all I got were crickets, not a single peep. Nothing from email, text, morse code or smoke signals nothing. So I thought to myself if I got some flat wood for the bottom and raise it up a bit that would help so the trash can wouldnt get wedged under the ring. Well, now my dog is happy because he now has a buffet of things to choose from because the lid won't close all the way. It was a millimeter too high. At this point the lid isnt quiet anymore and slams down, so much for quiet when I am trying to have a snack in the middle of the night undetected, nope I got caught on numerous occasions with can you bring me a snack too. SO this trash can foiled my plans more than once of having 2 minutes of peace enjoying my sons fruit snacks. So I get a smaller piece of wood but now we are back to a jammed trash can under the ring. So nothing from the company about the warranty, Ive donated enough blood, slamming lid and more hours of frustration than any trash can should give. I manage to wrangle that pesky ring out and it worked better but I did however decide to part ways with that rocky relationship because it just wasnt worth the frustration any more and took it to the train station.
