Good Standard Thickness Printer Paper, ZERO Problems with My HP LaserJet
By Tiger on Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2021
I got the 8.5x11 20lb Copy paper in the 8-ream box, and it met my expectations for simply being standard printer paper like you'd expect and have had ZERO problems with them feeding or printing from my printers, single or double-sided. The paper is just regular light paper, doesn't seem too thin or cheap. Its as pliable as wrapping paper, and not a thick card stock. I filled my tray in my HP LaserJet Pro MFP M477fdw to the brim, and have been printing for standard home office use, usually double-sided, and never having a problem or second thought about the paper quality. I don't get any unreasonable bleed through other than what you would expect to faintly notice on two sided printing if there is light beneath the paper. After looking through a lot of choices online, and reading reviews of every brand and variant, all of which with some scary reviews out there, I gave this a try, hoping for just decent standard printer paper that works. None of the fearful review claims came true for me. Not unexpectedly thin. Zero jamming for me. I like that it comes in a convenient box for easy ream storage, shipped to your front door, and a pretty decent value. If I had one complaint, is that the paper wrapping on the reams themselves is thin and tears easily on the sides when the ream flexes as you pick them up. It doesn't really matter as the box itself is protective. But a thicker ream wrapping paper would feel more sturdy and protective. But I do like the paper sleeves as they are easier to use a partial ream than the store-bought clear plastic sleeves that shred to pieces when opened. Personally, I've had some thicker paper before that feels more sturdy and rigid than this. I've had GP paper that I just loved because it felt so sturdy and worked as well, and I've had some HP paper from a local store that felt like stronger card stock. I thought I had 20lb paper before, but maybe it was heavier stock. I wouldn't say this feels "premium" in nature. But as 20lb copy paper, I don't think I can expect more than being what it stated, arriving in good condition, and just working. Although it is hard to say I "love" this paper, there are no flaws to knock off a star in my book. If you really want a paper to feel more rigid than regular paper, I think you simply have to go >20lbs card stock.

Amazon keeps dropping the ball!!!
By kathryngoins on Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2025
This product arrived in a pristine box, but when I opened it, both ordered items were damaged!!! This means the workers purposely placed damaged items in my box!!! This is absolutely ridiculous!!! I already waited many days longer than my 2 Prime days to get the paper, which is becoming the norm, only to find damaged items. This is a shame for Hammermill because the paper actually has a smooth texture to the touch. I was impressed. It’s too bad that several of the pages were damaged on the corners. I don’t have the time to send it back because I need the product and needed it last week! I’m very disappointed with Amazon and am just about getting ready to boycott their butts like I’ve had to do with Walmart! And when I go, I’m going all the way. That means Kindle and Heaven forbid, All of my Audible books. That would be the big shame. All because they’re stupid by not doing right by their customers by sending damaged items. Can’t blame this on the postal service, guys!!! Shame on you!!! My money wasn’t damaged. You take that freely and nowadays you don’t like to refund our money without a runaround. If we had time for that, we wouldn’t pay for Prime!!! Bad business. Your customer service used to be good, but has declined greatly! Hammermill’s paper? When I printed the 4 sheets that I needed🙄, the left upper corner had a slight bend forward, like a dog ear. I’m not sure why. The paper? My printer? But it was on each printout. However, as previously stated, the paper is unusually smooth, which I love!!! It’s smoother than any paper I’ve used in any recent memory (at home or at work) so that includes Staples, Office Depot brand, Costco, and Staples brand. So it’s not cheapo paper. I’d give it a 4-5 stars to be honest, but PRESENTATION has so much weight in a product and Amazon just blew it for them. I’d have to check more into that “dog-ear” problem and update to see if that’s a paper or printer thing. I’ve not had a problem with that with regular sized paper.

Okay, so I know, not everyone geeks out over printer paper, but hear me out. Hammermill Printer Paper, well, it’s the kind of paper that makes you want to actually print things! I mean, it’s like the Rolls-Royce of the printing world—without the hefty price tag. I gave it a 5-star rating because it honestly changed my office life. Remember the days when you'd print something, and it looked like it was asking you to send it back to the printer for a do-over? Yeah, me too. But not anymore! This paper is bright, smooth, and best of all, it doesn’t jam my printer. I half expected it to start spitting out rude notes at me—thankfully, it did not. Instead, I have a standing ovation of pristine documents every time! One day, I accidentally spilled coffee on an important printout. I feared a soggy mess, but, to my surprise, it held up pretty well—basically screamed, 'I’m too tough for your caffeine chaos!’ Honestly, I could probably use it in a rainstorm and still have a legible manuscript. So, if you're tired of those flimsy imposters pretending to be paper, give this a shot. It might just make you the hero of your office printing saga. Trust me on this one!

Paper seemed thinner than usual

The paper is used for a business, and I noticed the consistency seemed much thinner. But it gets the job done and didn't rip so that is all that matters and a good price.
Great Paper, Despite the Damage!

Hammermill Printer Paper is a top-notch product—crisp, bright, and perfect for all my printing needs. The 20 lb weight is just right, and the 11 x 17 size is ideal for larger projects. The quality is consistently excellent, with every sheet offering a smooth surface that prevents jams and makes for clean, professional prints. Unfortunately, my package arrived damaged. Despite this, the paper itself remained usable, a testament to its durability and packaging. Hammermill continues to be my go-to for reliable printing paper. Even with the delivery hiccup, this product earns its five stars for quality and performance!

I've used this brand of paper for decades and it always delivers on most of my printers. I've tried other brands and they are good - but this brand is a cut above, in my experience. My only complaint was that with the weight of this box I wished it wasn't shipped using the post office. As someone who is neither young nor strong, having to lift that heavy of an item from the post office to my car, then up a set of stairs to get it inside caused considerable pain that is taking days to recover from. Had I known it was going to be delivered by the post office instead of by truck to my home, as it used to be, I would have bought a smaller quantity.
Print Paper Delivery Issues

Product great! However, my only comment that shades this Review is that is the box of paper was delivered two doors down. It's heavy and the gal couldn't lift and I just got out of the hospital and couldn't lift over 10 pounds. Please follow up and let us know what happened. Addressed on box was correct. The husband had to deliver to my husband.
