Cuisinart 5.5 Qt. Cast Iron Casserole

This is an excellent piece of cookware. Cast iron must be heated up slowly, at a low temperature and there is no need ever to use cast ironware over a high flame. That is the only guideline one needs to follow to ensure consistently fine results with this casserole.

Cuisinart cookware has been such a disappointment. They should give me some kind of refund or better yet, a new pot!!

I have had this for about 6 months and I love it. Arrived in perfect condition. Nothing but positive things to say about this item.

When I received this casserole, or Dutch oven, I called Amazon because there were two chips in the ceramic finish, one in the handle and one at the rim of the lid. The pot seemed to be in good shape. I was told that I couldn't replace the item for the same price, as it was a Daily Deal, so, because the pot part seemed alright, I kept it. Within a year, and having used it maybe a dozen times, a crack appeared on the interior of the bottom of the pot. It has since begun to rust, and so I am not using this item any longer. (I just took a long time to write this review.) I am very disappointed, especially since I liked it so much, but more because even the deal on it was $54.00, and I didn't even get a year's use out of it. I have a Lodge Dutch oven that has lasted longer, and, other than discoloration from high heat, is in perfect condition. I can't recommend this item at all.

I purchased this product as a Christmas present for my wife in July. We have used it twice and after the second washing of the product, we uncovered a hairline crack in the enamel on the bottom of the pot. Very disappointing and with Amazon's return policy of 30 days or less are stuck with this.

Wonderful oval dutch oven. Smooth enamel with only minor defects to coating. Cleaned up like a breeze. Being oval of course it has a hot spot in the middle.

Quickly became our favorite cooktop pot... so much so that it usually just sits on our stove. It’s a gorgeous piece and well made. It arrived safely and quickly as promised.

This is supposed to be a high quality pot that is enameled coated. the enamel coating chipped within two days of use. they were bought in summer for christmas gifts and enamel is flaking off. that is not the normal wear and tear for this type of pot. Do not buy

Everyone says this can heat upto 500F, but the instructions in the box says not safe to go over 350F. False advertising

Arrived with a few chips in enamel. Does not affect usefulness.
