The only best affordable 4k projector that's around $2000
By moni T on Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2017
The only best affordable 4k projector that's around $2000. I first had the optoma uhd65 and return it and I then I got this uhd60 and I am glad I Did. (THE INPUT LAG ON THE UHD65 IS TOO HIGH TOO PLAY GAMES ON IT , that's y I returned it) My setup: Hardware: A. I use port 2 hdmi on the optoma to get 4k@60 hrz. (Port 1 on hdmi only supports 4k@30) 33 ft of Rubio fiber cable ( the only hdmi cable that supports 4k@60 that has worked for me) keep in mind that one end label source needs to go to a source and it won't work if you reverse it. B. Nvidea shield pro (The best 4k media player you can buy vs roku/ Amazon stick etc.) C. A pc with i7 processor with a nvidea 980 ti card ( i use this as my plex media server and use nvidea experience to stream to nvidea shield. D. Elite 125 inch motorized projector screen (it had wrinkles and bumps but it went away by itself in a few days) E. Denon X1400 AV receiver. Software : on nvidea shield I have plex, Netflix, kodi, Amazon prime, nvidea stream, On pc I have plex server , steam and games, nvidea experience (to stream games to nvidea shield) Windows 7 OS Pros: every 4k movie I throw on plex works great , Netflix and 4k looks amazing, my pc (i am planning to upgrade gpu to nvidea 1080 ti ) can only do 2k games Max detail on nvidea shield , the games run smooth and amazing, kodi on nvidea shield was awesome (I'm cutting the cable cord) 1080p movies look good as well. Cons: big size projector ( not a big deal but looks like an alien ) ; only one hdmi support 4k@60 which is hdmi port 2. Hdmi port 1 supports 4k@30 hrz ; the outside case of the projector feels a bit cheap, you need to get the right hdmi cable as mention to do 4k@60; you need to do research if you want 4k movies to work correctly (ex: my plex player did not play my 4k movies correctly it will give me an error message stating my pc is not powerful enough) the fix was to uninstall plex on my nvidea shield and reinstall plex. DO NOT UPGRADE PLEX TO THE LATEST version BECAUSE THAT WAS THE PROBLEM) I RECOMMEND BUYING THIS PROJECTOR BECAUSE 4K CONTENT IN MY EYES IS HERE. BUY BUY BUY. AND GET THE NVIDEA SHIELD WITH THIS!!!

The picture looks great when it’s working
By SeanReynoldsCS on Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2018
The picture looks great when it’s working, the issue is that when there are bright objects the electronics digitizes the image and the result looks REALLY blotchy... like worse than dvd pixelation. Also on white images it often will cast a purple saturation haze... Obviously this is a huge issue. To make the issue go away you have to turn off deep black and reduce the brilliant color setting. Easy fix right? Well if you adjust these settings so that the issues go away then your image is half as bright and not very full of color... In the end... the brightness and color of this projector make it less useful than a 1080p projector even though there are more pixels it’s not worth it if the pixels are dim and dull.
