Philips Norelco One Blade Hybrid Electric Shaver

I bought this to replace my previous trimmer which had died after years of quality service. I have no idea what they were thinking with their changes to the guards, but utility is very limited with this package. Rather than having widely adjustable guards for multiple uses, this ships with either static guards for each trimmer head or incredibly tiny range on adjustable guards. The offset is barely legible so you have to pull each one out and inspect before you find what you want. The difference between some of the guards is honestly irrelevant - does anyone seriously think that there is a functional difference between a 3mm and 5mm body trimmer guard? The guards are also a bit flimsy to attach and they tend to pop off on their own. Meanwhile, this is only designed for people who keep their hair VERY short. The longest guard available is 16mm (about half an inch) so if you don't keep your beard or hair shorter than that, you are out of luck. I used to trim my beard between an 8 (1 inch) and a 12 (1.5 inch) while I kept my hair around a 20 (2.5 inches). None of that is feasible with this kit and there are no larger guards to purchase for this model. This has basically become a 0 trimmer for me. I have to freehand any trimming that isn't direct on skin so I am effectively good to throw out 80% of the kit. I will also have to go looking for a hair clipper set since Norelco decided not to accommodate anything longer than 0.6 inches.
