Ultra light and supremely comfortable running shoe!
By Josh H on Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2019
I ordered these shoes in my typical size, without ever trying on a pair of Mizuno running shoes. When the Amazon box arrived with one other item, I assumed they had forgotten to ship the shoes, because there was no way there was a pair of men's size 13 shoes in the box. Sure enough, they were in there. These are one of the lightest pairs of shoes, running or otherwise, that I have ever felt in my size. They appeared small compared to my last pair of running shoes(Hoka One One), but fit my foot PERFECTLY. They grip securely through the heel and arch, and have plenty of wiggle room in the toe box without pinching or feeling too loose. Watch for Mizunos to go on sale, and they can be found in the $60 range, rather than $100-125. I highly recommend these shoes, and will be sticking with this brand for the foreseeable future.

Not like my old Precisions....
By aaron Merrill on Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2019
I really wish shoe companies would stop messing with their products,,,, found the mizuno precision years ago and they are the PERFECT shoe for me.... too bad you can no longer get them. I tried these to replace them. they are ok shoes, they seem to fit very tight, but they are so flexible it is not uncomfortable. I imaging the way my feet bulge out the toe box that they will not last very long, but they are comfortable. Much cheaper than many alternatives.

Excellent even compared to other Mizuno styles

I have worn a few different styles of Mizuno in the past; I run on my forefoot, approx 100 miles per week. Most Mizunos have a nice roomy toebox, these are no exception. They improve over previous shoes I've worn from Mizuno by having improved traction, especially in the forefoot which is obviously important to me. They even did well in late spring snow and slush, which is nice, a lot of street shoes really get slick in bad weather. The soles are a good compromise of firmness and protection, somewhere between Wave Rider and Sayonara but with a firmer outsole, which is nice since you get roadfeel without every pebble hurting, as well as decent durability. Only complaint is that the laces seem awfully short, I have to tie very small bows and they could easily stand to be 6" longer.

Good replacement for the Hitogami II

The best shoe I had found for race walking was the Mizuno Hitogami II, but they stopped making it. So I tried this Wave Shadow shoe for my long distance race walking. The shoe has just the right amount of cushioning, light weight and not bulky but is also supportive, breathable and provides good road feel. After the first mile walking in these shoes, I was like whoa, these feel great, then when I was finished with my 14 miles workout I was convinced that I had struck gold. I am going to use these for an upcoming 50 km race walk competition in a couple of weeks and I will update this post after the race.
Order a half size larger than you normally wear

I previously had a pair of Mizuno Wave Rider 13 and loved them. I was looking for a lower cost replacement and found these. I’m not much of a runner but just started training for a half marathon. So far I’ve put about 12 miles on these and love them. I normally wear size 10 including my last pair of Mizunos but decided to order size 10.5 after reading reviews. 10.5 fit perfect! Looking forward to putting many more miles on them.
compared to my other Mizuno

I have run with Mizuno for about 10 years. I love these shoes. This one in particular is a great shoe, and I loved running in it, but it is smaller than my other Mizuno. I even put them against the wall to compare to my other Mizuno, and they are shorter. This shoe really hurt my toe after running about 2 miles. Great shoe, just order larger.

These were for my husband. We run 4 days a week and he has flat feet. He just LOVES these running shoes. He says they fit well, offer great support and are sturdy enough to use on trail runs in the woods of Maine. They are lightweight and sturdy. Highly recommend - we are Mizuno clients all the way!
This is my go-to shoe for longer runs

I've run in Mizunos for years, starting with the Wave Precision (many models), then the Sayanara, and now the Shadow. The Shadow is a pretty good continuation of the Sayanara. Personally, I think there is a bit less cushioning under the arch (compared to the Sayanara), but all in all, this is a great shoe. Lightweight and flexible.
slipperiest, least useful, and thus most disappointing Mizunos I’ve had.

This product was my fourth Mizuno pair. I find Mizuno to be very reliable and their shoes attractive. This particular fit as expected. The pair was the lightest weight pair of Mizuno shoes I’ve purchased, too. But, after wearing them for a couple of days, I quickly came to realize that something is markedly different about the soles/treads of these shoes. They are downright slippery; they offer poor traction despite a tread design that looks quite standard. I think the issue must be the material. I’ve slipped not once by twice in the rain while wearing these. I wore them the first time while doing the leg press on the gym and they slipped right off the foot pad when I exerted/pressed. I put on a pair of my old Mizunos and things improved. I felt secure walking and they gripped the hard rubber pad of the leg press machine as all my previous Mizuno shoes had done in the preceding 5+ years. So, this issue isn’t me, it’s these #%*$ shoes. Needless to say, I’m very disappointed because they are comfortable, light, and attractive; in fact, they’re problem the most comfortable of the four pairs I’ve had. But when their reaction is that poor, they are by definition not “fit for purpose,” as the British say. Mizuno, if you’re listening (you’re not), something array with the treads of this model. I suspect you failed to give them rigorous quality assurance challenges, too.
Fit is Smaller

Bought a size 12 and it was very snug, should have gone a size up. Have had many pairs of Mizuno's in the past and never had a size issue (12's) .. they must be made somewhere new. Would not purchase again.
