Perfect for for the BMW 420 car top storage box.

This cover, manufactured by Thule, for their car top cargo boxes, fits the BMW 420 box perfectly. I'm pretty sure it will fit on the 520 boxes also. The material is heavy but I did read some reviews reporting that the material failed after a few years in the sun. An easy remedy would be to cover it with a small tarp if you store your covered cargo box outside in the elements. Any material that has direct sun on it will fail prematurely and cheap tarps are easy to come by. I'm very pleased with this cover as an elastic band is sewn into the opening to keep the bag held securely around the cargo box. I find this to be an excellent investment to protect your expensive cargo carrier.

Does not last--even in mild Coastal California

I purchased this cover because it was a perfect fit for our Thule Motion XXL and I trust Thule quality. Unfortunately, this cover was a massive disappointment. After 18 months it disintegrated and was totally useless. Whatever material they use simply cannot withstand even the mildest outdoor climates. Ours was stored outside but partially sheltered from both sun and rain. The images tell the story--it literally dissolved. If you plan to store your box inside and completely protected from all elements, then it might pass muster as a flimsy dust cover. If that's your intended purpose, then an inexpensive bed sheet will provide superior performance. Total waste of money.
