Esab Auto Darkening Welding Helmet

I bought this hood about three months ago, and have used it exclusively at work since then. I wear this hood 50 hours a week as a production line welder with tons of hood time. In terms of quality of the view, comfort of the headgear, this hood is terrific for the value. I've never had a hood that was this clear. Yes, the front cover lens can warp if you're doing spray or flux and you get really close to the puddle. But just back up a little, get your head out of the fumes, and it's not a problem. The real problem for me, which was an absolute deal breaker, is the hood tension wont stay. From day one the knobs would loosen and I'd have to re-tighten them at the end of the day. Then it progressed to multiple times throughout the day. Now three months of use I have to crank the knobs as tight as they go and after lifting it a couple of times it's so lose it will just fall straight down. I don't know if I got a defective unit, or what, but that makes this hood absolutely unusable. Aside from that, I truly loved this hood. I'm going to look into seeing if this is fixable with either new head gear or a shell, but honestly I'm concerned that it will just do the same thing as it did last time and break after a couple months.
