Best vacuum I've owned.

2 week review. I've used the Dyson several times since receiving it. It's amazing how much dirt and dust is coming out of our carpeting, that our previous vacuum was leaving behind.Positives:• Great suction• Easy to maneuver• Lots of attachments• Long Cord - so less stopping to change outlets.• Works well on bare floors• Emptying the container is really easy with the push of a button.Negatives:• The wand that detaches from the back is a little difficult to remove, and awkward to use. It's very long and doesn't bend so I find myself vacuuming with it at difficult angles. Maybe I'm using it wrong. We'll see over time.• The long cord is a positive, but it also can be a little difficult to manage. I've become tangled up in it a few times, but not a big deal.• There a lot of attachments, but no place to store them on the vacuum. So you will have to retrieve whichever one you want to use when you need it.• When you're finished using the vacuum, and you move the handle up to the upright position to store it, it doesn't always lock into place on the first try. When you pop it into place, it almost feels like it's going to break. Might just be something that I have to get over and use a little more force to get it to lock on the first try.Word of caution, do not lift by the handle on the dirt container. I did this when I was lifting it to vacuum my stairs, and the container popped off. Fortunately it didn't break.I'll update this review after using the vacuum for a longer period of time.

Not what I expected from Dyson!!!

I just received and assembled a Dyson Ball Allergy Up-rite Vacuum that I purchased from Amazon.First I'm not sure that what we received, is even what we ordered?There are no model numbers or information that is common between the packaging and what is described in the Amazon description other then the “Allergy Upright Vacuum” part.There is no indication that this is not a full size vacuum in the Amazon description.In fact it describes it as...42.4 x 13.4 x 15.4 inchesItem Weight17.3 poundsShipping Weight23.6 pounds (View shippingHowever the box describes it as weighing 11.10 pounds?I believe that this is a cheaper version of the compact Dyson Ball vacuum.The box says that this is a model made “Exclusive for Target”... Or in other words a cheaper special version that Target can sell at a lower price.The accessories look like they should cost about .25 cents each.I guess that there are some things that it pays to go and buy where you can actually see it first. LOLBut my real issues is that this vacuum is very cheaply made has a very small canister, and does not work very well.The suction seems to be less then our old one.Once it's assembled it's flimsy and difficult to use, you can't use the wand because the vacuum falls over all the time, and it would not pick up things off a non carpeted floor, that our 10 year old Dyson will.As a long time Dyson fan I’m very disappointed with this product and if this is typical of Dyson’s products now I think it is time to look elsewhere.We love our old Dyson (about 10 years old, I'd be glad to buy another one just like it) and only decided to get a new one because of the cost to rebuild the old one was nearly as much as buying this one but I think that may be a better option.I have already applied for a refund and been accepted for the return.PS. I've returned the vacuum with no problems, and after reading through the reviews again I'm pretty sure that what I received was not what the reviews here are about, in one comment the Dyson rep. says that this is a full size Dyson weighing 17 lbs. That's not what I recieved.
