Use: bought it for duck hunting mainly, because the shot guns are loud, but still need to communicate with fellow hunters and be able to hear ducks coming in from behind or over head. Experience: When I first put this on and turn up the volume it takes a few seconds to get used to the heightened audibility. But then I can pretty much forget about it. Surprisingly the microphones are isolated enough to be able to get a sense of direction of the source. Loud noises like shotgun shots are not eliminated completely, and I can hear the muffled noise. When I take it off, it again takes a few seconds to get used to the lowered audibility and at first I thought I had my ears popped. Cons: My own voice sounds muffled, so I have been yelled at for being too loud. If there's a noise close by, it is almost impossible to hear a sound coming from afar. I have a feeling, when the shotguns go off, it blocks all sounds and does not isolate the higher decibels solely. Given its price, it is a good deal. As an amateur and occasional hunter, I am not really willing to spend more. It gets the work done beautifully.
