What’s funny is I got this from a suggestion from an AI app. I started recording music on my laptop and using a DAW with a ton of plugins and loops and everything else you can get……well talk about saying goodbye to EVERY byte of storage you have on your measly laptop. So I was looking for the best solution to my storage issues and after narrowing down my needs, decided on this! Super nice quality, easy to use - just plug it in and you’re ready to rock! I went with the 2T capacity and that’s more than enough for everything I need to do! Great capacity for all my projects and add-ons. The design is nice and sleek, super fast for what I am doing. I was thinking about getting a 2nd one for gaming! Great product!

Not password protected by WD software!

I have other WD external hard drives, and they were all capable of password protection with included WD software. I was unaware that this drive is not password protected when I purchased it. I did not see in it's description where it stated that or made that clear. In contacting WD I was told that I could protect the drive by using Microsoft BitLocker Drive Encryption. I did not want to do that, I just wanted simple password protection that prevents anyone from plugging in this hard drive and having access to all it's contents. If you have personal information on this drive and it is lost or stolen, you need to be aware of this fact. The drive seems to be working ok, though I have had multiple WD external HD failures and error glitches with their drives.
