Cooks great!
By Doug Smith on Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2019
This toaster oven cooks great! We replaced a regular toaster with this unit because of the terribly uneven toasting the old unit was starting to do. This one does a great job of taking its place. The best part was unexpected. . . We have discovered that many of the things we were cooking in our large regular oven we can now cook in the Cuisinart. Our regular oven in huge and takes a long time to get up to temperature. It also takes a lot of electricity to heat that space. The Cuisinart saves us both time and money. A real win-win for us. This unit will toast with a bagel setting available, broil, bake and reheat. Plus, it has a convection option which I always use with the bake setting. The only real drawback I found with this unit is the same as MANY others have mention here in reviews . . . The writing on the buttons comes off almost immediately!! I had planned on putting clear nail polish on the buttons as soon as it arrived to prevent this but forgot in my excitement to try it out. Two days later, I noticed the writing on the START/STOP button was going away in the center. I coated all the buttons with clear nail polish and have had no further problems. When you order this oven, check to see if you have clear nail polish in the house. If not, order it from Amazon along with the oven. You will definitely need it. As noted above, this oven does a great job with all of it's functions. We are very happy with our purchase.

Good for the refurbished price.
By Howard S on Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2019
If you've already decided you want this toaster oven but aren't sure whether to go with refurbished or brand new, then do not hesitate to buy this refurbished one. It is just like new; no one would ever know that it wasn't brand spankin' new. But if you're wondering if the TOB-135 is right for you (new or not), then that's where it only gets my three stars. I give it a 'meh'. The initial control (the round dial) is frustrating. The first thing you have to do each time you use it is to turn the dial to select the mode (toast, bake, broil, reheat, etc). The dial seems to operate the opposite way we expect, but the frustrating part is the screen. The selected item flashes and it is difficult to see without stopping the dial turn to figure out which one is flashing. It sounds insignificant, but after a couple months with this oven my wife mentioned it to me and I'd been thinking the same thing all along. Also, one of the positions seems to be 'nothing selected', which makes it even more confusing when you're pausing to figure out which is selected. And then when it has finished cooking and you realize want to give it a little more time, you can't just turn it on again. You have to go back to that darned dial and turn it again until you are in the desired spot (why doesn't it know where I was last time and just start there?!?) Changing the temperature or timer before or while it is cooking is easy. The convection fan is quiet and can be turned on or off while baking. The oven temp changes in 25-degree increments, which makes it very convenient and quick to change. The toaster and bagel settings can be adjusted from 1 to 7 (light to dark). I like bagels in the morning but find the oven's bagel mode to be kind of useless in that it doesn't really toast the bottom part in this mode so it remains too soft and squishy. Bad bagel. So instead I use toast mode and find that 2 leaves it too light and 3 makes it blackish-brown (remember, on a scale from 1 to 7; I can't imagine using 4, 5, 6 or 7). Being able to set it to 2½ would be great, but that's not a thing. I like making Pillsbury cookies in my toaster oven, and it does okay with that if you keep an eye on it. I miss the 'cookie' button I had on my last (Black/Decker) oven. Finally, its appearance: I know I saw the picture before I bought it, but I got it anyway because of the great reviews. It's big, it's shiny, and it is boxy. My last oven was smoothly curved and stylish with brushed silver, and this Cuisinart is definitely not that. Maybe I'm still adjusting after two months with it, but I'm pretty sure this is really just NOT an attractive oven.
