Amethya 2pk Natural Himalayan Salt Lamp

The salt lamps appears to be authentic and well constructed, but the light is much dimmer than I would have hoped for. Authenticity is important, because, would you believe it, fake salt lamps are saturating the market. What will they think of next! One of my salt lamps was very dark colored with streaks of dark orange and browns and the other was very light colored with lighter orange and whites. I thought the color was beautiful, but the bulb doesn't appear to be large or a high enough wattage to really give much light. The lighting is very faint. I enjoy the look of it, and the price was a great deal, but I'm disappointed at the brightness. it's closer to "mood" lighting. Many salt lamps don't tend to be extremely bright, but in comparison to others I've seen, this one is very, very dark. Overall, I think the salt lamp is too thick, the bulb is too small, and the wattage isn't high enough. the downside, is that due to the way it's constructed, you can't easily purchase another larger bulb, and the area where the bulb is placed in, is very narrow. I could try and find a longer bulb to see if it would cast more light, but I'm not sure how much more effective that would be. Another strange thing about this model is that you have to "load" the bulb into the rock. You screw the bulb into the light base, which is attached to the cord, and then you stick the thing into the rock. There is a metal contraption with springs that holds the bulb into the base. I suppose this is nice if at some point you wanted to display the rock without the lighting, but that seems awfully silly, considering if you bought this, you probably bought this to be a lamp.
