10/10 Recommend!

The only thing we found that works for our cats! If they made it for dogs, I would definitely get that one too! Kills the fleas, and works great!! No skin irritation at all! And it is very safe! I have children and have never had a problem! Will definitely recommend!

Does not work!
By Bizaliz on Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2025
The vet found a couple live fleas on our newest adoptee, so she recommended Catego because we have 5 other cats in our house that would ALL have to be treated for fleas (the vet said she couldn’t prescribe Revolution for the other kitties without first seeing them). I bought a 6-pack of Catego. It was very easy to apply for each kitty, just like we’ve applied Revolution in past years. No bad reactions at all, so that was good. But here we are now, about one week past application, and ALL our kitties continue to scratch like crazy! Our new kitty Otis who received the Revolution at the vet is doing just fine. No scratching at all for him. But our 5 kitties who were treated with Catego still are scratching like crazy with fleas!!! I’m soooo very disappointed!!! And now I don’t know what to do, especially since they all just got this medicine about a week ago. Catego was a big waste of money for us! I do not recommend!!!

Yall. This stuff WORKS! I have literally tried soooo many stinking flea and tick meds. One even made one of my little kitties super sick and was toxic for him! Another one caused my other cat to lose hair. It’s been a wild ride, to say the least. But this stuff WORKS!! My two white kittens get eat up with ticks. Big ones, small ones, all of them. They drag them in to our house and it has been a struggle. The only thing that was helping was $50-$60 bravecto and then my vet wouldn’t give that to me without having to bring them in for a check up. I researched and researched trying to find something that would work just as good and this is it!! It’s been on my kittens & big cats for two weeks now and the ticks haven’t been on them at all. I’m so impressed! No bad reactions, no bad smells, and no ticks since the day I put it on them. They didn’t even dig and scratch at it like they normally do with the rest of the flea and tick meds. Fully support this brand & this flea and tick medicine!

I want to start with the fact that Catego is AWESOME! It works quickly, there’s no bad smell, and once you get the tube itself out, it’s incredibly easy to use! There have been no side effects whatsoever after three months in a row of use (no hair loss, no scabbing, no excessive scratching, etc.), and I genuinely believe this product is top-tier and worth every dollar. The reason I’m not giving this 5 stars is the packaging that holds the tubes of Catego. I understand the need for childproof packaging, especially when dealing with items that can harm even adults! However, this packaging is just a little bit ridiculous. I spent FOREVER trying to find the right positioning to be able to finally pop it open, and by the end of it, my fingers were sore from pulling so hard and in so many different ways. It shows you how you’re supposed to hold it to open it, but even when doing exactly what it said, it still just didn’t want to open for me! That being said, after opening and closing it a few times, it had finally loosened up enough that I could open it without struggling as much as the first couple of times. I would love to see this in packaging that is just a bit easier to open! Either way, I’m going to continue buying Catego as my cat’s monthly flea treatment due to how great the product itself is!

The best applicator for flea drops, I've ever seen it made it easier and faster to get drops on reluctant cats. I used these drops on 4 cat's and it worked as advertised. I like the fact I only have to use one product for all 4 of the cats due to weight differences. Has no smell which cats like . Price is reasonable for a product that actually works. I will be buying again.

Frontline and Advantage II have both been failing to control fleas on my three flea magnets (err, cats): they once worked but now do not kill all the adult fleas and even that limited control disappears after two weeks. Are fleas becoming resistant? I dunno, but for the price you pay for those brands, two weeks of less-than-effective control was frustrating for me and the furballs. Less money to spend on cat snacks they only play with, and cat toys they ignore. Looking for some other solution to throw money at, I came across Catego. The (relatively) low price looked too good to be true, and the silly name and cartoony font didn't inspire confidence, but any port in a storm, amiright? That high tech space-needle applicator tip looked like some serious hardware, though, probably based on some stolen black-project technology. (I think it's cleverly colored hot pink so DARPA won't recognize it.) If there were Klingon cats with Klingon fleas, this is the applicator the Klingons would use to exterminate them. Arthropod death beams would shoot out of it somewhere. Anyway, back to my purely Terran cats. I applicated the hell out of my felines, and in fairly short order I started noticing flea bodies in places where the cats liked to lounge, a few pitifully twitching their last amidst the fur my cats generously spread over all horizontal and vertical surfaces. The carnage would have warmed the heart of any Klingon (or DARPA researcher, if they only knew). A couple of days later, I flea-combed the one cat who will let me use grooming devices without yowling loudly enough to send the neighbors frantically dialing 9-1-1, and lo-and-behold, no fleas. (It's unfortunate there aren't more opportunities to say "lo-and-behold".) So this stuff works. As well as Frontline and Advantage II or Multi ever did, at roughly half the price. And more stylishly, I must say. This is now my go-to for fleas; when Amazon gets off their butts and makes one of those DASH-button thingys for Catego, I'm there. Update: WTF is up with the price?!? I paid $39 for my last 6 pack, and now the price is $70!?! Did Martin Shkreli purchase this company?

My vet gave me this for when my cat gets fleas or ticks because she won't wear a collar. The first time I saw a tick on her, I put it on. I hate that I have to put it on her neck and she tries to scratch at it and then licks her paw. I'm so worried she will poison herself doing that, but I don' t know what else to do. I try to watch her throughout the day. It has worked well enough, but recently she brought fleas home. I got bites in bed. So, I had to purchase a tablet to get rid of it. She also started to get ticks after 3 weeks so now I give it to her every 3 weeks instead of 4. I'm looking for more natural options, but cats are hard. I'm also thinking about tablets. At first, I thought it wouldn't work but when I gave that tablet recently it was simple. She ate it with no problem. So this is a temporary solution until I find something better and safer.

I have three cats, including a senior Himalayan who has been dealing with weight loss. I used to comb her several times a day, and the amount of fleas and dirt I found was staggering. I've tried other flea treatment products before, but many of them have concerning health risks based on reviews. I even had a dog who experienced seizures, despite the product only being applied to cats. I used Catego for cats over 1.5 lbs, even for my big boy who weighs more than 12 lbs. After thorough research, I found this product and decided to give it a try. I am amazed by the results—within just a day, I can barely find a flea. I'm still combing my cats, but there’s no flea dirt anymore. While one of my cats did hide after application, there have been no noticeable side effects on any of them. This product feels like a game-changer in comparison to the old days when treatments like Frontline and Advantage were only available with a prescription. It’s a relief to finally find something effective without compromising my pets' health.
Cats, Fleas, and Catego

In a perfect world, fleas would not exist. But in our world, they do. In a next-to-perfect world, my cats would line up and not struggle while I applied their flea treatment, but this world isn’t next-to-perfect either. Fleas love my cats. Fleas also love me. Any of these vermin that happen t be close to me will jump on me and chomp until I have more flea bites than my cats. No intelligent person wants fleas on their cats or in their home. For many years, I used Frontline, but now these spawn of Satan laugh at those drops. It doesn’t cut down on their biting or reproduction at all. I’ve also tried Advantage; it worked, but a few of my cats had a reaction to it that made me uncomfortable. I want to kill the fleas, not my cats. My flea killer of choice to use on my cats during flea season is now Catego. Catego did the trick. My cats are once again flea free, and none of them had a bad reaction to it. According to the directions on the box, I am not applying it exactly the right way, so fleas must loathe this stuff. Each dose is enclosed in plastic packaging that you must cut the corners off of with scissors. Then you must peel the plastic back to get the dose out. Sounds easy, right? Well, sometimes it does peel right back. Other times, it gets stuck in one spot and you must apply force to get the plastic apart. That is so much fun to do first thing in the morning. Next time I need to treat each of them with Catego, I’m going to get their doses ready the evening before. Oh, did I mention that I have eight cats? The childproof, pet-proof, adult-proof packaging probably discourages shoplifting of individual doses of the flea medication by individuals who don’t want to pay to keep fleas off their cats, but that doesn’t make it any easier for me to open. Once the doses are released from their plastic prisons, it is time to dose my cats. How many of you have cats? Do your cats stand still and allow you do exactly as the directions say while you apply their flea treatment? Mine do not. Okay, two out of my eight cats behave like angels and are perfectly still for me. The rest struggle to keep me from putting it on them. You apply Catego at the base of the head, but first, you are supposed to part the hair until the skin is visible at the spot where you are going to apply it. The people who make Catego have never met my cats. My cats—Tigger, Casper, Sasha, Bagheera, Thor, Loki, Katie, and Denise—are friendly and love to be petted and paid attention to. But when they know—and somehow they do—that it is time for their flea treatment, they watch every move you make. When you reach for them or walk toward them, even if your hands are empty, they dash away and hide. If they only realized how much more comfortable Catego makes them. That one day a month, it is time to take them by surprise. I don’t know. Maybe it is a game to them. But when a cat is hissing at me and doing its damnedest to get away, it doesn’t feel much like a game. So, am I able to part their hair and reveal the skin before applying? Only two out of my eight cats will stand still and allow me to do that. Do I manage to put Catego on all of them? Yes, but they do not like it. The tip of the applicator is rounded with no sharp edges, so I don’t understand why they run. Now, if I manage to hide the dose behind my back and apply it while I’m petting them, they don’t even notice. I’ve managed to do that a few times. Sometimes though, the unexpected happens. You know that sound that a container makes as you squeeze the last of its contents out? Use your imagination for what happens then. If you are having trouble finding a flea treatment that actually does what it says it will do, might I suggest giving Catego a try?
