This driveway alarm is amazing! We’ve had it for three years and haven’t had to change the batteries yet. Extremely dependable and its range is impressive. Highly recommend.

Guardline rendered items, previously purchased on Amazon, OBSOLETE!
By bullittcharger on Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2022
Per Guardline. Guardline changed their manufacturer. Their products are exactly the same EXCEPT Guardline declined to keep the same frequency and went to a new frequency, making all of their previous products OBSOLETE. All of Guardline’s new items do not “pair” (interface or communicate) with the EXACT SAME ITEMS which they have been selling for years on Amazon. The ONLY difference between the old and new is the frequency. One of their original selling points was that you could add on to their system. This was important! I’ve had two receivers fail shortly before three years. I recently tried to replace a third receiver that failed, and add a sensor, from Amazon. They did not pair with the original Guardline equipment. When I called Guardline, I was told they were unable to support the equipment they previously sold and that I would have to purchase an entirely new system. Manufacturers are legally required to make spare parts available to people buying electrical appliances. The aim of the new rules is to extend the lifespan of products by up to 10 years and benefit the environment. Under California's Lemon Law, manufacturers of most electronic goods that sell for more than $100 have to provide spare parts for up to seven years, regardless of warranty status. Guardline’s original items sold for $150. Apparently Guardline does not have to comply. Things to keep in mind. The original Guardline equipment operates on 902.25-906.75 MHz. Frequency bands 902-928 MHz do NOT require a license from the FCC. Why did they change? Guardline was expensive originally, and had little competition. Now they do. The competition appears just as reliable. The competition’s sensors are solar powered-a benefit. The competition has a longer range-a benefit. The competition does not have dozens of annoying alerts you have to cycle through each time you pair-a benefit. The competition is cheaper. You can purchase Guardline, but…WHY? Guardline threw thousands of customers, who bought their product in good faith on Amazon, UNDER THE BUS.
