xtava It Curl Curling Wand

This review is for both the .5-1" & 1-1.5" sized wands. I recently was in a wedding and half the ladies were curing their hair with a fancy curing wand they got at some kiosk at the local mall. Originally it was like $150, they got some deep hairdresser discount and purchased it for like $80. I looked it up on Amazon, and the price here is still $115. Waaay too much for my casual use! I rarely curl my hair and haven't touched my old curling iron for years, honestly. However, when I saw their fancy wand, I was inspired to try it again. Though not at even the $80...that's still too much for one tool in one straight size for me. So I went for this one in the 1"-1.5" size AND then the .5"-1" size after I'd tried the first one... and I still paid less than my cousin's deeply discounted 1.5" fancy one. She liked hers because even without product in her hair, the higher heat would hold her curls for hours, if not all day. I was excited to see how hot these wands were advertised to get, and sure enough, they have had the same result where the curls lasted hrs for me without anything in my hair even in the heat and humidity of summer. (though I did use dry shampoo the day before once- it didn't seem to make a difference.) I read and followed the recommended heat settings for my hair type and didn't even need to turn it up all the way to get the beachy, relaxed look I wanted. I also really appreciate the digital display so I can see when it gets back up to my preferred temperature and not waste effort and time on a curl that wont hold. I love these wands! & I love that Amazon has such a great deal on them right now too! OH and it's wonderful how they come with the heat proof storage bags. I really like that they are contained with their cirds and I don't need to leave it out to cool on my counter and potentially burn my toddler in the meantime. I can just pack it up right away when Im done: nice and safe for everyone! The gloves were nice for my first use as I got used to curling my hair again, but now that I've done it a few times, I find I don't need them. It's a nice included touch for learners or teens that are doing their own hair though so you don't have to buy something extra to encourage safety. Love these wands and am very happy I went with them over the $100+ versions! Maybe for a professional they are lacking in some way & I just don't know what I'm missing, but these are waaay nicer than my old irons from a decade or two ago. I'm super pleased with them!
