2 tries to setup, but works great!
By KickAClay on Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2017
Setup: I purchased a Refurbished AC1900 and tried to use the WPS setup. But the Wifi network icons did not light up after hitting the WPS button. So I called Support and they had me do a manual setup with my laptop through the EXT Wifi network. Which when setup was completed the device froze up and did not broadcast the networks. So I was instructed to do a hard reset (hold the reboot button for 1 minute. Tried manual setup again and everything worked this time. Use: Moved Extender into my garage to help get my Wifi Speakers working through my concrete patio. Workes great! I now have reliable signal in my garage, and the speakers connect right away.

NETGEAR EX7000-100NAR Refurb for the NOT win! (So far, so NOT good).
By oyobass on Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2017
Update: Over time the problem with my Nighthawk EX7000 got worse and worse. Went from restarting the repeater every few months to weeks to every few days, and factory resets thrown in for good measure. This past weekend had to reset every 10 minutes with 3 factory resets thrown in. Now an expensive, useless broken object. I have really old G band routers that still work perfectly. Newer Netgear stuff is poorly made with questionably programmed firmware. A few months of almost acceptable performance followed with years of nightmare-like nursing the thing along to try my moneys worth out of my investment makes this a Do Not Buy recommendation from me. WAS 5 stars, now 1: Refurbished product, but looks and works like new. Our previous single band extender, being 1) inexpensive and 2) several years old with obsolete technology, couldn't support the demands we were putting on it (2 or 3 HD video streams, 7 android devices and one hardcore gamer). The Nighthawk is capable of faster speeds than the cable company-supplied router, so the only bottleneck is the distance between the router and extender, which is unavoidable. I am using the Fastlane setting to try to increase throughput, and although I have yet to do an A/B test with and without Fastlane, it appears to be a bit faster. Setup was very easy, with more settings configured automatically than our previous TP-Link router-used-as-a-range-extender. It might not be as flexible as far as options go, but the Nighthawk does what it is supposed to do, and does it well with minimal hassle. I will report back if the extender performance goes south, as some have mentioned in the reviews for the new product.
