Great iPad for those on a budget, still is everything awesome you expect from iPad!

This is truly a fantastic iPad for the money. I was skeptical when comparing to the iPad Pro model. There are certain differences but if you can get passed aesthetics, this is most likely the iPad for you. Let's address what it doesn't do/have. It does not have the fully laminated display so there is a slight airgap between the glass the the display. This also means the display does not have the anti-glare coating. It has the A9 vs A9X chip. It has dual speakers on the bottom and not quad stereo speakers like on the Pro. It also does not have the smart connector for utilizing Apple's new Smart Cover Keyboard, and is not compatible with Apple Pencil. Other than that, I don't think you can beat this value. If you are upgrading from an iPad 3 like I am, this thing is lightening quick! Even though its slightly heavier than the iPad Pro or Air models, its still a light device, coming in at just under 1 pound. It is no strain to hold it for any matter of time. The screen is bight and crisp. Apps open, close, and run flawlessly. One thing I noticed is any app that requires internet is now blazing fast! Safari, YouTube, Netflix, and others are so much faster than previous models. iOS10 and using the multi-app split screen feature is great too! The camera is eh, but I never intended on taking pictures with this anyway. If you are into graphic design, and you have to have the smart keyboard, get the Pro. If you like an easy touch interface for web browsing, YouTube, basic photo and video editing, and playing music, get this new one. I've been hands on the with Pro, and while I did appreciate the better camera and stereo speakers, if I'm not going to use them I don't need to pay for them. Also, inside your home or office, this iPad's sound output will be plenty loud to enjoy whatever you are listening too. I purchased the 128 GB model and count not happier. Great value and a definite buy if looking to upgrade and on a budget!

don't get this

(see below) I've only had this iPad 3 days so I'll have to fully comment later. I would have stuck with the Kindle, which I've been using for years except I got tired of the problems with my old one and the one I ordered to replace it. The sound kept going on and off and I did everything suggested online except remove the back. guess I could have sent it in but I didn't want to. SO, I ordered a new Kindle. No visual for videos (black screen) and the rotation lock didn't work, which is very important to me because I only use the Kindle in bed. My son's friends both have an iPad and they highly recommended them so I ordered this one. I've never used an Apple product before so I felt like I was in the twilight zone. ha, ha. It is larger and heavier so we'll see if it works out when I'm watching videos in bed for 2-3 hours. I used a stick-on handle with my Kindles and that worked fine. I have to say that this scheme of selling the basic product and then offering all these accessories at high prices really annoys me. It's like the printer deal; buy the printer cheap and then pay a fortune for the ink. In any case, I don't think it is as intuitive as the Kindle. And everyone said it is fast, but what I have is a lag whenever I click and I didn't know if anything was happening. It only showed it downloading on the home page. and it was only pause or download so I had no idea how long it was going to take. Also, when I wanted to go to Netflix I was forced to go through hell to finally get the app. Honest to god. Plus I have a store card with Amazon but I had to give Apple my credit card to access the app in the Apple store. I don't like my CC number out there all over. I never could get Paypal activated from iTunes so I had to use my CC. I may or may not get used to it. I just whiz around on my Kindle. Beautiful picture and so easy to use. But I lost faith in their reliability. That was the 5th Kindle in as many years, so even though they are cheaper, they don't seem to last long. NOTE on October 28 2017. Apple is being sued for selling refurbished iPad's as new in a replacement program they have. They define them as preforming like new so they think it's okay to pass them off as new. I swear that this iPad can't be new. It is so messed up. When I play videos they repeat a scene three times, the subtitles are not in sync, and then it freezes. I can play them fine on my old Kindle. The layout makes no sense. Nothing works consistently, like when I go to Netflix, even though I downloaded the App it asks me every time if I want to download the app. It worked for a brief period, but is now back to asking me about the app. It also asks me to sign in to Apple for no reason over and over. Recently it started inserting blue arrows randomly when I click on things and I can't get rid of them. When I turn it on it shows news for 10 seconds and then the screen goes black. Aside from performance, the screen is constantly covered with fingerprints. The Kindle screen does not do this. It's stressful just to try to use it. I've been using the Kindle for years and it's so easy. I'm getting another one and hoping it is okay.
