Creative Angler Fly Tying Whip Finisher

I bought this as a spare to the whip tool I already have. I tried this thing out and I could not get it to spin and wrap correctly. When I tried to wrap it, it felt real awkward and the thread kept popping off the hook.. My other tool works just fine so it wasn't technique. I compared this with my current tool and noticed that the angles were way different. I took some needle nose pliers and bent this thing in a few different directions to get it as close as possible to the same angles as my current tool. Once I did this it worked much better and would spin without the thread falling off. Also the little spike at the end of it pokes the palm of my hand as I'm using the tool sometimes. Found that kind of annoying. I'll keep using my current tool as it works just fine. Now that I've bent this one I can't really send it back but for the price it's not a big deal.
