Unethical company

A few years ago I bought several ZMODO cameras for the house. You have to pay for the video backup service "meshare" and it's billed yearly. The cameras never really worked very well, they'd drop off line a lot, completely miss important moments or record events where there was no sound or movement. So when we moved into our new home last year, I stopped using these cameras and canceled the service through the app. Well, they decided to charge me this year anyway. I re-downloaded the app and logged in to see that they never actually canceled and the service was still active. So I call ZMODO. Their customer service rep was so rude and condescending. He laughed and basically called me a liar and said they weren't going to refund the money, and to enjoy their services for another year. I asked to speak to someone else and this dude's "supervisor" was equally rude and nasty. I let him know I'd be disputing the charges, and he just laughed at me and told me to have a nice day. I start researching, and this company does this A LOT. They have multiple complaints against them for similar behavior, refusing to cancel services and fraudulent charges on people's accounts. PP investigated, contacted zmodo and refunded me fully. ZMODO is one of the biggest sellers of home security cameras on Amazon. Don't buy their products. They are terrible quality and a complete rip-off in addition to stealing money from former customers. Even the BBB won't certify them as a result of their unethical practices.
