Wamery Knife and Scissor Sharpeners

I bought this to keep my knives sharp and to sharpen a ton of scissors we've had sitting in a drawer for way too long. It did not come with instructions, so I googled up some youtube tutorials, watched them and went to work. It's fairly straightforward in it's use, and on the knives it did better than expected! I dug out a set of carving knives that were my mother's before she passed, and at this point they were so dull I could grip the blades with my hands tightly and not be cut, after a good 2-3 minutes of running through each coarseness, they were sharper than I ever remember them and fully functional rather than just sentimental drawer fillers. I am very pleased with the knife portion. I sadly did not have good results with the scissor sharpener, and that's mostly why I bought this particular product, I watched the youtube clips and mimicked their motions, I tried about 5-8 different pairs, of varying metals and quality, and none were made sharper, in fact, my cheaper pairs were made duller, which I will put down to poor materials. I googled more looking for an answer about why I was having issues with sharpening my scissors, and could find nothing helpful. It seems a few people have good luck with it sharpening their scissors, but many people seem to have the same issues I did. Still looking for something to save my drawer full of dull scissors... Anyway, I would give it a higher rating, possibly even 5 stars if I had just wanted a knife sharpener, but I really wanted something for scissors. If you're looking for a good and easy to use knife sharpener, by all means, purchase this one, but if you're looking for something for your scissors, I'd look elsewhere.
