Avoid spilled water and crying about it - BUY THE ORIGINAL NOW
By Robert Moyses on Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2017
Superb look no further this is the original and you must purchase this and only this straw cap. I had the misfortune to purchase a very similar looking straw cap that can easily be identified by its grey rubber straw tip and some on the base, you must avoid this version or similar at all cost. They look very similar but are extremely different the imitation holds on with only a 1/4 turn of the thread. I have dropped by flask from a very low height or even simply tipping over flask and the cap has come off, because it is not holding on enough to the thread.on the flask. I had concerns about this very issue from the time I received it. But this original Hydro Flask it is made for the Hydro Flask and holds onto the flask with a greater 3/4 turn giving you a much more secure feeling that the cap will not come off from a small fall even just carrying by the handle gave me concerns. The finish is a silky smooth that is plesant to the touch and easy to clean. Buy the original please do not waste your money on any cheap copy.

Beware! FAKES in this listing are crap
By Lotsa Hats on Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2017
I debated how to rate this... The actual Hydro Flask straw lids are 5 star awesome, but I believe the product I received from this Amazon listing is a fake. Anyway I'm reviewing the actual product I got from Amazon. BTW mine was not "sold" by Amazon, but it was "fulfilled" by Amazon. The listing says Hydro Flask is the manufacturer, so there is obviously an intentional deception somewhere along the line. I had supposed Amazon would ensure the legitimacy of the products it ships, & Amazon fulfillment would be sufficient protection against receiving fakes. But evidently not... Why do I think it's fake? Well, I've had two of these kids for a few years. I purchased them locally & they've been great. I wanted another for my son, so I ordered one from this listing. *This* one developed mold within a couple months. Surprised, I checked it out a little more carefully, and I noticed several differences: 1) The other lids have the registered trademark symbol after the words "Hydro Flask" in the prominent oval on the lid. That symbol is not present on the lid I got from Amazon (you don't see it in the picture, either.) 2) The Hydro Flask logo on the lid handle is slightly different: rather like a line version of the logo on the bottle. The logo on my other lids is identical to the one on the bottles. 3) The quality of manufacture is different. It may be only of aesthetic significance, but there are ridges from injection molding and irregularities in the mouthpiece. None of these things are visible on my other lids. 4) The mouthpiece on my other lids is a hard plastic. On the lid from Amazon, it is soft, like silicone. This seems like the most significant difference, because this is where the mold developed. (Incidentally, it's like mold in bathroom caulk - it doesn't come off.) OK, mold. I assure you, it's not like this bottle sat around for a week with juice in it. Only water. Thoroughly air dried every time. Complety disassembled & sterilized periodically. So, 1 star: because first I'm extremely annoyed my kid has been drinking through a moldy mouthpiece, because second a $10+ LID ought to last more than a couple months, because third I don't like scams! Besides ripping off customers, these fakes hurt legitimate businesses. Could there be some other explanation? Sure. Maybe Hydro Flask changed their manufacturing and dropped the ® symbol. I just know I have two lids that have been great for a few years, justifying the steep price tag; and another from Amazon, same price but garbage after a few months.
