OMG, please stop whining about the zipper, this cooler rules
By David H. on Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2017
I already had a Tundra 45, and the Hopper also lives up to the hype and expectations around toughness, ice retention, engineering, etc. And like the Tundra, it takes a SMALL AMOUNT of work to get the most from this cooler as well. Really, all you have to do is freeze a couple of water-filled milk jugs and set them in your Hopper the evening before you're going to pack it. Refrigerate all the stuff (drinks, especially) you're going to put in it at least a full day before. When you're ready to go, take out the milk jugs and put them back in the freezer for next time. Then pack all your stuff in the cooler with your ice. That's it. Those simple steps will make a HUGE difference in how this (and any cooler, really) performs. And for the record, those people complaining about how the zipper "really hurts" or "scratches" or "destroys" their hands must have skin made of Play-Doh. Honestly, it's a plastic zipper, people, not a torture device from Saw IV. Squeeze the sides of the cooler to open it up further, and get your stuff out. My God.

Keeps cold, definitely puncture proof, but Zipper broke in 3 weeks and now has to be returned...
By Marshall Grossman on Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2017
I was pretty pumped about this yeti. I spearfish and fish from a kayak a lot so to have a cooler that is soft enough to be tied down depending on my gear that day is great and to have it be from a company that I know usually makes great gear is even better. For the most part it did stand up the first three or four times i used it. Heck, I packed it full of sheepshead, flounder, and even trigger fish and it kept fish cold as well as never punctured and was easy to clean. It seemed like a heavy duty cooler-like the hard case yeti coolers. But, like others had mentioned the zipper placement makes it hard to put stuff in and within the first 3 weeks the zipper completely broke. It is under warranty through yeti I believe so I'm going to try to return it, but it seems that this will probably be a ongoing issue due to just the design of the zipper. I would recommend probably just getting a regular yeti or if you must get a soft case version the newer ones now have a square body with a zipper that goes around the side so that might not happen. All in all 3 stars because though it did its job, it was short lived. For the amount of money that I paid for the cooler it really deserves less stars but Its the only thing from Yeti that has ever failed on me.
