My 2 yr old loves these jammies. I bought a size larger and they fit her perfectly. I believe if I would have bought the recommended size that the arms and shoulder area would be way too tight fitting for her liking. I understand the style of pjs this is are made to be more form fitting but my kiddo likes looser jammies. Other than that, great jammies
