Human Touch Reflex-4 Foot & Calf Shiatsu Massager

I was working at Amazon during peak season when I ran across this product. I couldn't wait to get home to investigate how it works and read the reviews. I looked at the most expensive ones down to the cheapest ones. This one was priced mid range and received rave reviews! It also was available under a warehouse deal so I received $65 off and free shipping! It was my Christmas present to myself and I want you to know, it has changed my life! I work on my feet 10 to 12 hours a day. I have had plantar fasciitis in the past and anyone who has it, knows the horrible pain it causes! I was unable to sleep cause of leg cramps and so I was basically miserable at work and at home. I had tried practically everything! Nothing I was doing could take away the pain. Then, I discovered this! This machine is AMAZING! You can sit back, or lean forward, readjust your legs and feet for it to respond right where to massage the most. I do strongly suggest you wear knee socks while using it. Dont have it massage your bare skin. This truly is one of the greatest investments I've made in my well being in my entire adult life!

I bought this for my husband who is a long haul truck driver. The constant stop and go has taken such a toll on his legs. This massager gave him such relief from the first time he used it. He actually fell asleep with his legs in it because it had relaxed him so much. This massager is worth every single penny I spent on it. I thought he would complain that I splurged a little, but I was very wrong. He is still thanking me because this has helped relieve so much of the discomfort he previously had in his feet and calves. Now for my own review!!! Lol As a mother of a toddler I am ALWAYS on my feet. When he is not home and the baby is napping this is my escape. I pour myself some tea, throw on a movie and sit back and clear my mind. I never imagined that a foot massager could change my outlook on the day. It really does release me so much!!! Thank you so much!!!!

PROS: I love it when it squeezes and holds on to my calves. My daughter has stopped asking everyday to rub her sore calves because she just sits with this all the time! Great for athletic people and runners. CONS: Doesn't get my feet as much as I'd like, but I also have a foot only one that I can use. It aggravated my ankle that I sprained over a year ago for some reason so be careful if you've had ankle injuries in the past. CUSTOMER SERVICE: My first one had a knocking noise on the left side. After reading similar reviews, I knew this was a default. I contacted the manufacturer who responded once to acknowledge it was a faulty product, and then never again. They said they don't make them anymore, and then just didn't get back to me again. For this reason, I will never buy from Human Touch in the future. HOWEVER, Amazon then responded, sent me a new one, and allowed a free return all within a week! I adore Amazon customer service, and that is why I trust to buy things from this website so much.

My wife is an RN and works 12-hour shifts, 'nuff said. She cried when she put her little feet in the HT Reflex 4 the first time, and not a day's gone by that she has not sat in it two or three times. She would still rather have me work her feet over (I've got big, strong hands), but she loves being able to sit down and have her feet and calves massaged anytime she likes. It was a bit of a splurge for me, but it has been worth it already just to see her enjoy it so. The unit is big, now, you're not going to shelve it in the closet between times, it's going to sit out, so think about that. We think the styling is beautiful, though, and the more she likes it, the better it looks to me. It appears to be very well designed and built, everything looks and feels like good quality. The controls are simple, and she loves all four settings. If your loved one is on their feet a lot and has some pain or tension in the lower legs and feet, this will help. It earns my highest recommendation. Enjoy!

Does it job so far. Wife is using it everyday. On the right-side there is something that makes a loud pop like plastic getting hung then poping free. Far from a quiet relaxing sound. Up around the top I see cracks in the plastic already just after a couple of uses. When the massage presses on your leg the frame expands some so this cracks the caseing. Your feet will not stay still. If you try to relax and just let your legs sit still it will push your legs and feet out of the massager. You constantly have to readjust or force your legs back toward the massagers. Which defeats purpose. There is no heat in this item, there is no pressure adjustment. So for different size legs you can't adjust. Has 4 settings. If you can't your feet to deep into bottom it can really hurt your toes and feet. I think it could really injure your feet if you dontvget them in quite right.

This machine is so easy to use, relatively light, and does the job. Many nights m mom would need to have her feet and calves massaged in order for her to sleep after an active day, and it would have to be done manually, and sometimes no one would be available or, the available person is occupied, and to break from their task would be an inconvenience. Obtaining this Shiatsu massage machine gave me has made her independent, as she can easily slide it in front of her recliner, activate it, let it do its thing., and five minutes later she's asleep on said recliner. I have seen several reviews complaining that the massager squeezes the calves too tightly, and results in an uncomfortable massage. LIES!!! Those people sound like pansies. As another reviewer pointed out, if you feel discomfort in your calves, it's because they need massaged and, after a couple times, the calves should feel just fine.

I never write reviews. But this turn around has been so incredible I HAD to write about it. I am a healthy size lady and I have an hour desk job and a bad knee. My bad knee and leg had been swelling terribly after all day on the job. I was sleeping at nite with my legs up on the wall trying to bring the swelling down. It worked until about two hours into my job again. I got this massager in yesterday, tried it out last nite. Wow it hurt for about 10 min. I took a breather then put my feet/calves in there again and would have fallen asleep had it not turned itself off about 20 min later. I got up and walked around then couldnt resist. I went back into again. Finally I was able to sleep in my bed, normally. I woke up this morning no swelling. Its now 11pm and my leg is swelling a little bit. Im headed back to the massager then to bed. I love it!!!

I read all of the reviews on Amazon for the Reflex-4, saw some negative reviews due to pain from the massager. I decided to purchase it, since there were many saying how great it was and how good it felt. I received it within three days, well packaged and was to take out and use. That was the end of the good. I have never used any item that caused as much pain as did the Relfex-4. The main problem is the rollers behind the calf. Between the pressure it forces to the calf and the tightening of the bladders on the leg a extreme pain was inflected to the calf. I am not talking about pain due to a sore muscle, it was like a rod being pushed into the calf, the pain was so great I could not sit still. Ok, I did not learn, I figured it was the first use and I did read it can take a few uses before it became comfortable. The next day I once again put my legs into the Reflex-4 and as soon as it started I was greeted with more of the same pain but this time it was worse do to the soreness I had from the day before. For 15 min I suffered, my stupidity, with pain to the calf and also the feet. I could not feel the rollers on the bottom of my feet, I feet where being squeezed and pushed around, toes being pinched and add to that the pain in the calf's, it was terrible. I am in very good shape, and I am not large, probably a medium body with legs that are in good condition. For four days now I have been in pain, each day it gets less but still if I touch the calf's I can feel so pain. I am guessing that each massager must be different, since many had no problem. It is your choice but be aware if you feel pain stop the massager and remove your legs. As always I contacted Amazon and they are giving me a refund minus the shipping cost, which is fine with me.

This is a great foot and calf massager for daily maintenance and initial massage if you have a lot of stiffness and pain in you legs and feet from plantar fasciitis and sitting at desk or standing all day. It does NOT stretch for you, eat healthy for you, or strengthen for you- it is NOT a miracle worker, it meerly relieves the stiffness and increases circulation that stretching cannot. If you have small feet and ankles like me I recommend wrapping and hand towel around your feet to increase the pressure and reduce sliding. For short persons (like me) prop up the machine on a low bench and prop forward your back so you are sitting comfortably- this was designed for a 5'6" to 6' person, not a 5' person, you will have to make some minor comfort adjustments. The nice thing is that unlike taller people who can reach down with their legs in the machine, smaller people have small enough legs that they can just slip their legs in after turning the machine on!

I have chronic leg discomfort due to a failed arterial graft. It's something I have to live with unless I choose amputation, but it's not that bad YET. The pain doesn't really come into play until I try to sleep, with nothing on my mind. Sometimes the only relief is a massage, relieving the pain long enough for me to fall asleep. This did the trick. I've read other reviews saying that the machine is too powerful, pinching and hurting. I disagree. I actually wish it would grip a little tighter around the ankle and lower leg (like a human massage). Still, it's enough relief to allow me to drift off to sleep, so it fulfills it's purpose. Don't let the complaints about pinching deter you from buying. You can adjust your leg and foot position so it doesn't hurt. I hope that it's powerful enough for you too. Give it a try. Nothing to lose and it worked for me.
