A good accessory to have, but keys have to be bigger
By Jon Hegel on Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2017
Disclaimer: I purchased my Apple iPad Pro Smart Keyboard from eBay instead of Amazon, so I include the pictures in this review as proof that I actually have used this item. Typing experience: My first impression of typing on this keyboard was: "Okay, this is special." After all, you are typing on a piece of nylon-like cloth. The keys are very click-y, as in you know it when you press a button (either intentionally or by accident). The size of the keys are on the smaller side. I think Apple should reduce the space among the keys just so it can make the keys bigger. I watched lots of review videos before purchasing it -- some people like typing on this and some don't. As for me, I think it's pretty okay and I don't have anything complain about after getting used to it. Magnet: I've seen the "shake test" where people just shake the iPad (with the keyboard attached) so hard that the Smart Keyboard would fall off. I just want to point out that the test is meaningless because the magnet is definitely strong enough to do the job. The keyboard cover just isn't going to fall off randomly unless you apply some force, and I can't think of any circumstance where I would need to shake my iPad Pro like an idiot and then worry about the keyboard cover falling off. One thing I like about this keyboard is that when you set it up, it's so firm and stable and it doesn't wobble when you touch/poke the iPad screen. It's a oddly satisfying feeling to me.

Very portable and the keypresses feel good but missing important features
By B.Nonymous on Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2018
I love my anker bluetooth keyboard since it feels just like my imac pro keyboard, but I needed something more portable (read: attaches to case). This is light thanks to getting power from the ipad, it feels great to type on the keys, and it is cool in that it is detachable. The downsides are: folding stand configurations don’t all work with a finger ring I have on the back of the case; there are no controls for play/pause, volume, or other music controls; there is no home button, instead have to do command-H (as in hide on macos); and there are no F keys or *escape button*. If you program using VI(M) in a terminal, expect to get things done with great difficulty due to the lack fo an escape key. This is compounded by how different the button spacing is than a laptop. If the other keyboard case I tried had not died after 2 weeks of use, I’d still be using that since it had all these features and the button locations/spacing was more similar to my other mac keyboards so I made fewer typos. All in all, I’m not sure it’s worth the money for this, even on discount, since it does not meet the needs of a professional user. Edit: Having used this for several weeks, I have to lower my rating to 2-stars because I constantly try to use control and bring up the emoji menu! Apple has been confused about what Pro means for a long time and, as a professional, this and the lack of f-keys make it a real struggle to do professional work. All they have to do is allow me to remap the key. I’m moving dangerously close to a surface pro. Edit: Having used this even longer, the emoji key is impossibly annoying and causes me daily problems and I’ve come to appreciate that the angle of the screen when in keyboard mode is nearly always too flat. If they would have made it sit more upright, it would be useful. I think this should cost no more than $50 for all its flaws.
