Two year updated review
By WW on Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2016
I don't know if Dyson still sells these refurbished units but I bought on on 11/11/2016, today is 11/11/2018 and for the first time this year, I've had to pull this heater out. Mine was in better shape than some of the others I've seen on here. The only real "damage" to the outside is one little 3 inch scratch on the back of it. I really didn't know if we needed one of these. Our house has dual heat pumps (one gas, the other electric) but I watched too many remodel your house shows and had built an office into the long excess space in our living room. The problem with that? The office sits directly across the hall from the front door, we have two dogs and two kids, the kids are always running outside, dogs run out to use the bathroom and we live in an area that has rough winters. Even today, 11/11, the high was 30, the low tonight is going to be 16. Still, I'm not a person that gets cold but my wife, the kids, the dogs and my senior mom who lives with us are all those beings that hear "32 degrees" and act like we're living inside a glacier. This heater was bought solely for the office. It does a perfect job of keeping the room as warm if not warmer than the rest of the house. To give you an idea of how the room's temperature varies, on average, in cold months, it's 3-5 degrees cooler than the other rooms. Part of the reason is there is only one heat vent in the room and the entrance way of the house connects to it so that's roughly 11x25 that the one vent is trying to heat. It would make sense to put another vent in but the room is at the mid-point of the house and the roof on the outside is raised. Under the floor is a basement where the heating duct is. This one vent is the only one in this area of the house. Adding another is just going to take heat away from this one. That made buying this refurbished heater a very good deal. Even if we had to buy a new one, it would be cheaper than busting out cinder to put another vent. The funniest part is we have a little dog that has very little fur, we thought he was a dachshund/pekingese mix but he's a pug/beagle or puggle. He stays in the office when this heater is on. Just using basic calculations, it costs about $4 more per month on electricity, to set this on a timer to run 30 minutes every 3 hours.I like it so much that we might still buy another one to put in our basement. I did put heat vents down there but because there are only two walls it's a big, open area. We only use section of the basement for daily use (kids have games down there, pool table, and some exercise equipment). I'll probably put a wall up to close that section off some and get another one of these heaters do go in the office and move this one down to the basement. The only complaint I've had with it is it will shut itself off. Last winter, I remember it being below zero one day and we all came in from work/school and turned it on. About 10 minutes later, it shut off. It turned back on with the remote but I don't know it's some kind of overheating protection or if it just decided I should be punished for living in such a cold area. Either way, I decided to write this update because I was back here checking to see if they had any of the refurbished models left. I would estimate we've used it 180 days x 2 hours per day without any other problems. There is a thermometer in the office and the temperature goes up 4-5 degrees in 30 minutes on 74 (keep the house's thermostats set on 71). It's one of my favorite purchases we've made from Amazon.

Worst Product Ever NOT worth the Money
By LD on Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2018
Blows a small amount of cold air when “not running” but in standby mode. Heater broke after 1 cold season, Dyson replaced it, that unit broke after a shorter use time, Dyson wont replace.I would rather spend 30-40 on a cheap heater and throw it away each year than ever buy a Dyson again. It was absolutely the worst appliance purchase I have ever made, Dyson wont honor their product.
