Love the scale even more now; Thank you Yunmai for offering sharing with both Fitbit and Apple, super awesome of you!!!

Update on 01/29/2018 - I still love this scale. I recently had to change the batteries for the first time. There are two of us using it. I weigh myself every day and the other person does so randomly (not sure how often). Either way, that's excellent battery life. Compared to other devices I connect to my phone via bluetooth (headphones, car, etc.), this scale connects the quickest, nearly instantly. I appreciate this feature, never any fussing with anything to get the scale to connect. It's really nice when electronics work consistently every time. Update on 11/30/2017: This scale is still going strong, and Yunmai has made some great improvements to their app, which was already very good. I haven't had to change the scale's batteries since I installed the original batteries they supplied, and I literally use this scale every day for months now. The scale is also used more infrequently by other family members, but the scale knows when it is me. Totally greatful on this, the Yunmai app now has the ability to share info with both Fitbit and with MyFitnessPal. Before the Yunmai app only shared info with Apple's Health application and still does. I was manually typing in my weight every day on the Fitbit app and really appreciate Yunmai offering these new info sharing options!!!. If you are unaware, Apple and Fitbit are competitors and do not share info which makes things very complicated and more expensive for their customers. Yunmai bridged the divide with their app updates, which saved me from having to buy one of the much more expensive scales that would only be compatible with either Fitbit or Apple, not both. Now I can see everything I want in both the Fitbit and MyFitnessPal apps!!! Update on 5/16/2017 : Yunmai Support proactively followed up after my review, reaching out to me personally. They advised the battery life should be higher and that it does sound like there may be an issue with my unit. While I have had an issue I hope is isolated, I am impressed with their customer service and really do like the scale. While I won't go into detail on how Yunmai remedied my issue, I will say I am very satisfied with their proactivity and with the solution they proposed. Issues happen with all products occasionally, and it is how a company handles those issues that sets the company apart. Not many companies care much about customer service these days, but apparently Yunmai does care! Thank you for standing behind your product and customers!!! Original Review: This scale is feature rich and seems to be pretty accurate on weight, but it very quickly drains batteries!!! I have had this about two months now and have had to replace the batteries 5 times, no exaggeration!!! I went to contact the seller to see if perhaps my scale is faulty, but it appears to be too late to do anything now. I regret the purchase for the hassle is it causing me to constantly need to change the batteries. If there was an option to plug it in, I'd be perfectly happy and would simply do that, but unfortunately, that's not an option... I estimate I only weighed myself maybe 30 times over the last two months. I am the only one using the scale, and I only connect my phone maybe every two times I weight myself. I thought maybe the Bluetooth connection was draining the batteries, but it doesn't seem to matter. The batteries that came with the scale only lasted for 3 days. The next batteries I put in were brand new fully charged, high capacity Eneloop batteries. The Eneloop batteries help a little, allowing me to weigh myself 5 or 6 times. The bad part is that there is no forewarning the batteries are dead. Yes, there is a battery indicator on the scale, but it indicates the batteries are full until you attempt to step on the scale and nothing happens. I love everything about the scale, except the battery life, because changing the batteries so often is a big hassle. I'd gladly pay $20 more for a scale that doesn't have this issue. I wanted to weigh myself daily on this one and keep a log on my iPhone, but I would have to change the batteries every 5 days!!!

Not an accurate scale for body fat percentage, or weight
By Jbug on Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2016
Update: Yunmai sent me a new updated scale since the old scale was such a disappointment. The new scale is even more disappointing. The foot pads that measure impedance for body fat, etc. are so far apart that my feet will not register any information and I get an error every time. I wear a 6.5 shoe. The weight also changes just stepping off and stepping back on. I would not recommend. I wasted my money. The only 2 good things about this scale are it's looks and it weights in 1/10ths of a pound. Otherwise, worthless. The App you download is also worthless. I bought the scale to monitor body fat % as I joined at fitness class focusing on changing the makeup of my body from less fat to more muscle. The scale at the fitness club and my old Tanita scale show my body fat (BF) ratio 7% lower than the Younmai scale. This is no big deal for most people as one could just use the first percent as a benchmark and go from there. But in my husband's case, he is already at 14% and now it shows he is sick!!! Also, it only records body fat about 1 out of 5 times I step on the scale. The rest of the time it shows an error. The app doesn't really show much useful information either. Especially when it doesn't record the BF every time. It does track weight loss and gain, but doesn't track change in body fat. When I contacted the Yunmai folks about the BF issue, they said, it's just an estimate. If an estimate works for you, then this scale might be for you.
