I purchased this reconditioned. I tested it immediately. All parts are operable. I really like that it is an all in one unit for both types of vacuum seal bags. That is very convenient making it well worth the price because I don't have the time or patience to hunt for the hose attachment so I wasn't using it on my previous model. (I have purchased hundreds of products at Amazon. com. I have never received a product at a free or discounted price, as of this date. I write reviews to help others decide whether a product suits their needs as hundreds of reviewers on Amazon.com have done for me. Criteria for my reviews: 5 stars- The item matches the photo and description of the item, and fulfills the functions it was advertised to fulfill. I remove one star each for 1) items not fulfilling their intended purpose and/or 2) items being significantly deficient in one or more areas.)

DOES NOT SEAL PROPERLY

WE ARE THAWING OUT PACKAGES AND FIND THEM LEAKING ALL OVER THE COUNTER WHEN THEY THAW. TOTALLY SUCKS.
