Kate Spade Turquoise Tea Kettle

This is the CUTEST kettle of ALL TIME! The yellow is a bright, saturated lemon-y sunshine kind of yellow that could make anyone happy just looking at it (very Dorothy Draper). It says WHISTLE WHILE YOU WORK (!!) on the part where the hot water exits the kettle (as if it needed to be cuter) and it makes a low whistling noise when the water boils that gets progressively louder, which I also like, as the ones that start whistling aggressively and immediately annoy me. You must pick it up with a pot holder after boiling water, as the handle gets very hot. It holds a lot more water than I thought it would just looking at its size. Also, the inside of the kettle is sparkly black— it looks like the night sky. I have NEVER loved a kettle as much as I love this one (and I drink a lot of tea).

This is the sweetest kettle! Well made, beautiful styling and the engraved WHISTLE WHILE YOU WORK on the whistle makes me smile ever time I use it. I read every review before purchasing and I was a little worried about the durability of the handle and weather it was suitable to use on my gas stove, but it was so cute I decided to roll the dice. Well I’m happy to report that many months in, it looks as good as it did the day I bought it!!!! Yes the handle gets a bit hot so my kids is a hot mit...it’s fine for me though. It’s so much nicer than an ugly plastic handle so it’s a small sacrifice to make for style lol. If you love it as much as I do...DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY!

I've been wanting a tea kettle for awhile, and I love Kate Spade. The turquoise caught my eye immediately and I ordered it! Some reviewers said the handle overheats and you need a pot holder, but I have not had an issue with that at all. I let the water boil until it whistles and the handle is never too hot. My roommate and also I love the quiet whistle.

This teakettle is cute, sturdy, and user-friendly. I am so glad I purchased it! I don't have issues with burning my hands on the handle, but I take it off the heat when the water just begins to boil. I also wipe out the interior after use. I've had it for a few months, and it is one of the best Amazon purchases I've made. I highly recommend it.

This is a really lovely, attractive kettle that brightens up my kitchen. While there was a slight bulge in the enamel of the exterior, it seems to be flush with the underlying metal and the rest of the piece is immaculate (I will update if it turns out to be a problem). The whistle on this kettle isn't too loud, and it isn't as consistent or nice sounding as my previous kettle (a cheap OXO kettle I got 2nd hand), but I didn't buy this kettle because I thought it would sing! I can hear it when it's done, that's enough. It does spit a tiny little bit from the spout as it whistles, but not enough to make a mess. The handle tends to get warm but not hot, however I have fitted a pan handle holder onto it so even if it was an issue it'd be easily solved with the addition of the hot handle holder. I love the detail of "Whistle while you work" on the cap. I found that this kettle boils water more quickly than my previous, and because a magnet sticks to the bottom of this kettle it will work when I upgrade to an induction cooktop as well. All in all, I was looking for a stylish but functional new kettle and feel this delivered.

Beautiful kettle. Well made. I do not write many reviews but I felt like I need to write one this time to clarify that handle of this kettle doesn’t not get hot. I read many reviews before I purchased this tea kettle and a lot of them said that the handle gets hot. I tried the kettle as soon as I received it and the handle doesn’t get hot at all. I purchased the turquoise one and I love it!! I am glad I did it:)

I bought this because I loved the shape and the bright yellow color, a bonus was the cute “whistle while you work” on the spout. At $60 it was more than I wanted to spend, but decided to splurge. Pros: -Very cute -Boils water quickly -High Capacity Cons: -Spout is hard to close -Rarely even whistles! -Enamel chips easily -Handle is flimsy -Expensive Basically, I have never had a tea kettle that functioned so poorly! Not worth the money! It is very cute though.

I searched for HOURS trying to find the best teapot to purchase on amazon. I bought several others from Chantal in a similar price range and those were AWFUL, the quality was so subpar so I returned them right away. That led me to try one of these Kate Spade ones…the quality right out of the box was apparent. There were no chips in the enamel or scratches on the metal like I encountered on the other brands. This teapot heated up very quickly and the whistle was loud, despite what others have said BUT it did produce steam well before the whistle started to get loud so I could see if you took it off early, it would seem as if though it was not very loud. I would personally disregard a lot of the damaged photos on the reviews (they made me initially hesitate) since those people looked liked they probably forgot it on the burner too long so clearly user error and not the product itself. The product is very well made so I can’t imagine the enamel falling off with proper use & cleaning (don’t put a teapot in the dishwasher, people, lol)…

I bought this because it’s a gorgeous design and because it’s 100% metal; no plastic. Plastic has been the downfall of the one stovetop and two electric kettles I’ve owned in the past 25 years. Eventually, plastic will warp and/or break and then the thing is unusable. This one is beautiful! I got the lilac colored one and the inside is a sparkling royal blue. I LOVE the “whistle while you work” stamped on the spout cover. HOWEVER, the whistle is too soft to be heard on the other side of my apartment, which is what I was wanting so I could leave the kettle unattended for a few minutes. Also, you need an oven mitt to use the handle (which I expected; you need one with plastic handles as well.) So YMMV. I think they should work on the whistle, but otherwise, I’m very happy with mine. EDIT 6/17/23: Pay attention to the instructions on how to use it and the whistle will get louder! If you fill it the right amount, that is. I still love this kettle! It's the prettiest thing in my kitchen!
