I have a pristine pool now .
By Linda P. on Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2018
I usually don't review purchases, but the Haywood Shark XL robotic pool cleaner is so outstanding that I have to share. I' vs been cleaning my pool with manual pool vacuum for about 15 years. Now as a senior citizen facing knee replacement this summer ,I made the switch. After a lot of research , chose the Shark XL. Feels like a whole new world ; would never be without it now. The 60 foot cord works very well in my 16 x32 in ground pool and does not tangle. Reaches every corner, drain, climbs the walls beautifully, cleans the water line ,and steps. It's not too heavy ! I'm a. 70 year old small woman and I have no problem lifting it. The button that opens the top was a problem at first , then my daughter figured out that if you press hard with two thumbs and lift up at same time it works . It took me a few tries and now I can do it . Don't let that deter you - this is an awesome cleaning machine. The first time in, he (we named him Mack the Knife) seemed random but he was mapping the pool layout. On all subsequent runs he methodically goes back and forth , side to side. In 3 hours the pool is pristine, including the steps. Sometimes he sits there for a minute or two and you start to wonder if he's stopped , but no, he's just thinking. I seem to be using less chlorine, the water is Crystal clear and I couldn't be happier. If you are like me , on the fence for a few years, do yourself a favor. It's like beating your rugs vs buying a vacuum cleaner ; silly to be without one. You get your life back --no more sweating in the heat, no more hours spent bent over a pole. Yes, it's pricy but well worth it . I broke down and got the caddy after hauling it around in a wheelbarrow. This is a precision machine and it deserves proper storage. It's quiet, it picks up leaves , algea, worms, bugs, etc no problem . The power pack is easy to figure out, the instructions are clear and easy to understand. In my experience, there is no down side to this product . It arrived quickly and was well packaged. Easy to get out of the box and get it in the water . In less than an hour after delivery, it was cleaning the pool, and doing it better than I ever did. My pool is surrounded by trees and I live in the countryside, so lots of stuff falls in the pool -- so far Mack has handled it all; I'll update if things change , but so far , after 3 cleanings I am extremely happy with this machine .

Shuts itself off for no reason.
By Judy R. Bryant on Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2021
This automatic pool cleaner worked fine for first year. Brought it out this year and it shuts itself off after 5-15 min of running. Seems to intake and expel water as well as propel itself until it doesn't. Filters cleaned no hose entanglement, etc. Was not work the money for 1.5 year worth of service. Warranty was 1 yrs. no extended warranty offered. Would not purchase again, attempted to get information for repair and/or others who may have had the same issue. No response from Hayward. Very frustrated as we have used many hayward products in the past without incident.
