Very Happy With SimpliSafe

Installed this system three days ago. Took me a while to get everything set up but it works very well. At first I couldn't get the 105 decibel alarm to work. There were no instructions in the box but I found out how to get it to be recognized by locating an online discussion on this topic. Just used google and asked the right question. This morning the system indicated that two entry sensors were not responding. The key pad gave their serial numbers. I found out that these were two sensors that I hadn't yet installed but placed them next to each other and somehow the system recognized that they existed. It was no problem to remove them from the system and to clear the error. I am just keeping them separated until I install them. So far I am very happy with this purchase and would definitely buy again. I just ordered a smoke detector and a water alarm since they were not part of this package.

One year simplisafe owner here. After having the fire department in our front yard waking us up at 1:30 AM last night, I'm finally giving this system the boot. To be fair the system worked once, we had an intruder while we were on vacation and they left as soon as the alarm went off. But that doesn't make up for the 20+ false alarms we had over the course of a year. On an average of about twice a month our fire alarms were going off, all times of the day. Once I get three malfunctioning alarms on my desk to replace I would make the painful hour long phone call to explain my situation, and they would send three new ones, and it would happen all over again. There's no rhyme or reason, some I would have installed for less than a week, others would go haywire after 9 months. Save yourself the hassle and just adopt a dog, it'll be way more effective and you won't have to explain to the local fire or police department that its just another equipment malfunction. And don't get me wrong, when it works, it works. But at this point I feel like simplisafe should be paying me to put up with all of the headaches.
