Do the twist!
By citan-uzuki on Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2015
What we have here is another entry into the infusion water bottle market. Most work the same way. The flavoring ingredients are put inside a small tube. The water will have to go through that tube in order to exit the bottle. The water receives the flavoring in two ways. Simply soaking the ingredients will impart flavor to the water inside the bottle. As the water is forced to pass through the tube in order to exit the bottle, the water is forced to make contact with the ingredients on the way out. In short, these bottles do a good job of flavoring the water. And this even when you take into consideration that some ingredients do not release their flavors easily. The eBook gives hints as to what you can do to help stubborn ingredients better release their flavors. Alright then. Let us get to the specifics of this particular product. What makes the Savvy Infusion Water Bottle a number one bestseller? What is it about this one product that makes it stand out from the rest? It's not that it does a better job of extracting the flavor from the ingredients. It does just as well as any other infusion bottle out there. As I said above, they all work the same way. Short of squeezing the ingredient or using hot water, they do what can reasonably be done to pull out the flavors. What makes this bottle desirable is its additional features: Leak-proof, attractive, and "insulated". The bottle is leak proof. The red cap screws on to the bottle. It is not a flip-top closure. You have to twist it off to remove it from the bottle. The product is attractively designed. It is thin enough to fit in most car cup holders and easy to hold even for those with small hands. The brand's logo is very tastefully printed on the bottle and the red cap adds interest to the aesthetics. What about the "insulated" part? The bottle appears to be made of one layer. Unlike a Thermos insulated beverage bottle, this one does not appear to have double-wall construction. I inspected the bottle carefully and see only one layer, unless the air space between the layers is very, very thin. What about condensation? One Savvy Life claims this bottle will produce less condensation. Naturally, I decided to put this to the test. My results show that it does, indeed, produce less condensation than a drinking glass when filled with the very cold water I used. This is unscientific, but the results are practical. Compared to a glass drinking ware, when filled with very cold water, this bottle produced less condensation. The drinking glass, made out of glass, left water rings on the table. This bottle did not. I have read customer complaints about the infuser being hard to pull out. My experience with this one bottle is that the infuser is firmly seated in the bottle, but it is not hard to pull out. You do not want this piece to be loose. Remember that the water must pass through the infuser in order to exit out of the bottle, for you to drink. There will be times when you will have to sharply tilt the bottle in order to get the water out and the last thing you want is for the infuser to fall out. What will happen if the infuser were to come out at such a time? Basically, you will get a very cold shower. It might be fun to take a cold shower with strawberry infused water while you're wearing your bathing suit, but not when you're at the gym! What I am saying is, the infuser needs to seat firmly to the bottle. You will have bigger complaints if it were to come out and shower you with flavored water at the gym, while you're on the treadmill. It is tight for a good reason. One design advice that I can give is to perhaps mold some serrations or notches on the pull tab of the infuser so that even slippery fingers will be able to get a secure grip on the tab to pull the infuser out. This product is made from Tritan. I have two Nalgene bottles made from the same material. How strong is Tritan? Let's say you work for the bomb disposal unit of the police department. You like to sip from your infusion bottle while defusing bombs. Bad luck hits you and you have a bad day on the job. Okay, it won't be an open casket funeral but you can pass this life knowing that your family can continue to enjoy your Savvy bottle after you're gone. The red plastic cap is a twist-on, twist-off affair. This is a bottle that you can put in your gym bag and be confident that you won't find soggy clothes after your workout. The seal on this Savvy bottle is tight and secure. So if you want leak-proof, then do the twist! I understand this is One Savvy Life's first product. And it is a very good one. Customer service is very good. The product is a hot seller here on Amazon. Is the product perfect? No, it is not. The purchase price is a little steep for what you get. What useful feature can you add to an infusion bottle? Perhaps the bottle should have a removable neoprene sleeve. The bottle could be a little bit taller, for higher capacity. But, the most important feature to consider would not cost anything at all. And that is to mold some notches on the pull tab of the plastic infuser to make it easier to remove from the bottle. Actually, to make this bottle even better and for it to justify the premium price, the infuser should screw into the bottle, rather than a simple fit that relies on friction. Highly recommended, but a bit pricey compared to other products of this type.

Not the right infusion bottle for me but the customer service is A++
By Kabami on Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2016
This is cheaply made. Even after multiple thorough cleanings, I can actually smell and taste the chemicals in the rubber lining in the top. The plastic is very thin. I would have returned the product but the box had already been thrown away in the hustle and bustle of Christmas. I kept washing it and trying again, hoping the chemical issues would dissipate but it never happened. It would have still been cheaply made, but at least it would have been useable. *Update 4/23/2016* I have added a 2 stars based on the wonderful customer service I received from this company. Although I found that this bottle was not for me, they offered to replace the item and said the chemical smell is not normal. They also offered a full refund because they offer a 100% guarantee and they stood by that guarantee. Within one day, I was refunded (well, my son was) the full cost of the item even though it was way beyond the return date. Because of this, if you are thinking about purchasing this bottle you have nothing to lose because this company will make it right if you are dissatisfied. Customer service this good is hard to find and my updated review is a reflection of my appreciation of that.
