Large enough to be a real lap desk

Be careful when you shop for these; most of them are just big enough to hold a laptop computer, without additional room to use with a mouse. This one is large enough to hold a 16" laptop and provide a sufficient surface for a mouse. I'm not sure what it's made of, but it's a more durable and weather resistant material than wood. And one nice feature is that the cushion underneath can be removed and reversed, which allows for a more level setup (so my mouse doesn't roll into my lap).

It's functional but not cosmetically nice

Unlike most laptop desks, this one is a piece of thin pressed wood without a great finish. It arrived with a ton of chips and scratches on the edges. It's a good size, and is comfortable to use. But it looked like it had shelfwear on arrival (was not damaged by shipping, just how it's made), and shows wear and tear very easily. If you are giving this as a gift, get a different desk. If you just need something that will work that doesn't have an armrest or a bunch of slots, and don't need it to look pretty this is perfect.
