Works Flawlessly With Ring Security to link with Alexa!
By T. Graham on Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2019
I bought this specifically to integrate with my Ring Security system and for use with my Amazon Alexa devices. I can either control the lock with my Ring app or (my favorite part) I created a routine with the Alexa app where I say, "Alexa, goodnight" and it will lock my door as well as turn off the lights I have also connected to Alexa. Installing the lock was relatively easy using the included instructions but the YouTube video seemed to make it a bit easier since I do better with visual demonstrations with mechanical stuff. I've had it installed for about 2-weeks now and have only had one concern which was that I couldn't program my existing house keys with this lock because my key was physically too wide to fit into the lock. Other than that, this device has operated flawlessly. Highly recommended for Ring Security and/or Amazon Alexa users. NOTE: Ring acts as a Z-wave hub so, if you don't have the Ring Security system or a Z-wave hub, you'll need to purchase one. The new Amazon Echo Show 2 has a ZigBee hub built-in which does NOT work directly with this lock.

Loved then hated.Had to return; here's why
By GOODNIGHTGOAT on Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2016
I started my zwave devices collection with a Schlage zwave touchpad lock on my front door. I figured I could save some money and buy the keypad-less (and cheaper) Kwikset 910 zwave locks for my 3 other doors. Here's where my adventure begins. I'm connecting to a Honeywell Lynx L5100 controller. I installed one Kwikset lock in my rear door. At first everything was fine. The motor was louder than my Schlage, but no big deal. The trouble started when the lock started to auto lock itself DESPITE the dip switch being set to OFF for that feature. I was still troubleshooting that issue, as it would mostly happen in the morning after I disarmed my alarm. My real trouble was when I required two Drive-In latches from Kwikset. I was surprised that the note in the install manual says to call Kwikset for them. My Schlage lock had both adapters. I called and ordered two drive in latches. After about two weeks of waiting, my package arrived.. With ONE latch inside, despite the labeling saying two were packed. I called back and after another 15 minutes on hold I voiced my complaint. The nice woman on the phone said she would send another out for me. That was also now several weeks ago and I have still yet to see my latch. On top of that, my second Kwikset 910 install started behaving the same way. The lock would immediately relock itself after a manual unlock. At this point I was frustrated. I enjoyed the quick-key feature of the Kwikset locks and I was sad to lose it. I returned these odd units to Amazon and went with a different model $150 Schlage zwave touchpad lock. I installed all three Schlage locks in just an hour or so and so far they've been a huge improvement. It cost more money, but the kit had everything I needed, had quieter motors and DOESN'T RE-LOCK itself when I use them. I realize I could have a bad batch of Kwikset locks, but look at the overall situation: Locks didn't come with everything I needed to install. They malfunctioned in very similar ways. I waited almost a month for them to ship me latches that were compatible and I've still yet to see the two I need. Did I mention that the batteries were running out in 2-3 weeks with only light motorized use? I can't explain it either, but it's not a good thing. To be clear, my doors have a hole drilled for a drive-in latch. There is no mortice and screw-in latch bolt plates to be installed. For me, the extra money for the Schlage was worth it. I clearly got the impression that Kwikset didn't want my money. I also took the Schlage lock cores to a locksmith and for 20mins and $30 I have functioning locks and matching keyed keyways. You may have better luck, but for me these weren't worth the time and hassle for the money they charge. Look elsewhere.
