New Balance Men's Slip Resistant 626 V2 Industrial Shoe (Open Box)

These shoes are fantastic for the workplace. They are all day comfortable which is to be expected from new balance, the no slip soles are excellent. They are very solid shoes. The only complaint I have and it’s a small one. The toe box is a little narrow. Not uncomfortably so but a bit more narrow than I would prefer. The quality otherwise more than makes up for it

Great factory work shoe

I'll start by saying that I don't know of a better work shoe in it's price range. Every shoe out there is going to have things going for it and things it could do better. It's important to know what you're buying before you purchase thos shoe. I read the reviews on this and other shoes before deciding to buy this one. That being said I already expected some of the cons others wrote before my purchase and can affirm a lot of what has already been said by many others while offering the pros as well. This shoe is a work shoe. It is classified as a cross trainer but has a lot of deviations from that label. It is hard to break in, doesn't breathe well at all, and it isn't lightweight as others have already stated. There are many reviews pointing to it being rough on the toes and I can see why. I ordered this shoe in a extra wide to compensate for the tightness on the toes but still have the sides digging into my big and pinky toes after an 8 hour day even though the shoe itself has plenty of room on me. While this seems to fade gradually as I break them in more and more, some other buyers have struggled with this. The shoes fit is not otherwise uncomfortable as the cushioning and sole provides a great deal of shock absorption for my entire foot, knees other joints. It does however, tend to roll in rather than out on my foot but I think part of that is just the way my feet are shaped. These shoes have excellent water resistance in my opinion, but on the other hand, they don't breathe very well so my feet don't smell great after 9 hours at work. I work on concrete in a warehouse and my feet feel way better at the end of the day in these shoes than any other pair I own which is exactly why I bought them. In addition, they seem solidly constructed, have excellent grip and are slip resistant. For work, these are my new go to pair because of what I do for a living. If I had purchased this pair for something else however, I would probably give them a lower rating. For what they are, I love them despite the cons I mentioned. For the price, I feel as though New balance did an excellent job!

this shoe reminded me of the fit of the 623 cross trainer. felt comfortable from day one....but one caveat...trying to use an elliptical exercise machine may be painful. If you want these for every day use (but not exercising) they are very comfortable, have tremendous traction, and seem well built. (I haven't had them for 6 months yet, but they are holding up well) I wish they came in other colors (white navy, etc). They are a bit stiff at first, but the remedy to that is to not lace them up on every hole. As you break them in, can probably lace them up a bit more. They seem to be stiffer and heavier than cross trainers...so cardio may not be a great idea

These shoes are durable. Regular street shoes do not last more than a week at my job, but these have held up for four months. The non-slip feature also seems to work nicely. I regularly have to walk through pools of oil, coolant, and metal chips, and have yet to even come close to slipping. Apparently at some point something fell on my foot and left a tear in the fabric. I didn't even notice, so the composite toe did its job. By far the best feature though is the fact that it comes in 6E wide. Finally, a heavy-duty work shoe that doesn't cause blisters on the sides of my feet! I will buy another pair of these when they are eventually worn down to nubs.

Before switching to Zappos I bought and alternated between these and the "Rockport Men's Chranson Black 10.5 M (D)-10.5 M" from January 2019 for about 2.5 years at my full-time job with corner-to-corner metal, concrete and hazardous chemicals, and both held up decently! They were a bit tight around the toes at first before somewhat adjusting with time and held up decently against chemical spills, repeated impact and constant bending, stretching and twisting before taking one strike too many and fraying at the seams. In addition the soles began chipping and falling off and holes developed around the toe box, but that is to be expected after such lengthy (ab)use. Other pluses include having removable insoles and being stylish, fitting adequately, and being easy to clean. These shoes along with the aforementioned "Rockport Chranson" could probably benefit from soles with wider grooves at the bottom as it was easy for pebbles to get stuck between them. As an okay start to medium-quality work shoes I would recommend both shoes for their durability and thickness despite being tough to break in, giving them a serviceable 3/5 stars!

Wore NewBalance 623-4E’s professionally & causally for some 30 years. Presently, 623’s are discontinued. Tried the 626, but in a 6E. Wow! Full support with no pressure spots anywhere. SOOO comfortable! Sorry guys, bought two more pairs (3 total). I’ll never have to worry again about discontinuance of this model. It’s flat, wide heel (stability) is great for the gym, hiking or shopping. High quality shoe for great price.

These have lasted over a year, which most of my shoes don't. Usually they split on the sides, these have not. They are tight in the toe area, after a lot of walking they seem to pinch my toes. They were slip resistant for most of the year, but lately seem to be losing some of the resistance. Is hard to keep the treads clean, since the treads are so small.

A+, 10 out of 10. Will buy again!
