I now have three FI9900P units in operation, along with 5 other Foscam units. The 9900 is by far the best quality picture we've seen, but it took some effort to get settled in with it. The last unit I bought was intermittent on wireless, and I returned it. The replacement seemed intermittent, but I decided to bite the bullet and update the System firmware, Application firmware, and plug-in (I use Safari on a Mac). The updates were very easy to do, and resolved all issues. I subsequently updated the other two 9900s, which resolved an issue with motion detection that I had in one of them. I had a problem viewing the updated cameras on Safari at first, even after installing the plugin. But I went in and deleted the browser cache, and all cameras popped up perfectly. I primarily use these cameras for viewing on an iPhone or iPad, with the LiveCams Pro App. It is a terrific system. I've now had a lot of experience with IP cameras. They can be frustrating if you're expecting a plug-and-play experience. But before you throw in the towel, update the firmware and plug-in. That is done from the "Settings" screen of the camera from a browser. After a couple of years using Foscam cameras, I find they are very responsive in updating software as new products are released. And the quality I see in current Foscam units is terrific. I use port forwarding on my router so that I can view these cameras on my iPhone from anywhere, and have found that they respond as though I was viewing them locally.

Well, this is a retraction of my first review.. .My first one said...Very good clear image.....That is still true......When it works... My camera stopped working on wifi... Works fine with ethernet cable plugged in. Even 10 feet from the router... NO signal... Ping is intermittent on wifi. One good reply out of 10...Updated firmware and web interface to latest... No good... As a Tech support IT person for over 30 years, I gave them a very clear understanding of what it is doing, ping results, Router model, the fact I even used a second WIFI range extender 5 feet from the camera, all the technical details that I knew they would need and you still get treated like an idiot... This is the 2nd camera out of 4 that I have purchased in about 5 years that has failed... Not a good ratio... Will not ever purchase a foscam or equivalent (hidden under different names) ever again... ****Update--7-24-18**** I received a Fed-Ex tracking number from Foscam on 7-17-18 stating that my replacement camera was "picked up". The projected DELIVERY date however, is Monday--7-30-18.... Seriously??? THIRTEEN days to ship something from Houston Texas to Western KY??? It is only a THIRTEEN HOUR DRIVE... Not thirteen days!!! I am NOT happy at all with Foscam. If this had been a commercial security system using this camera, I would have had a blind spot for over a month by the time this camera gets here and configured... Of course I would not recommend anything THIS cheap for a REAL security system.. It is for home monitoring outside... JUNK.... *******UPDATE******** 7-31-18 This camera has to have the WORST WIFI system ever on a camera.. This new one STILL does not work more than 4 feet from an AP. All my other wifi devices work fine on my network. I even used a AMPED Networks WIFI extender FIVE FEET from the camera... NOT WORKING... So, I moved the Range extender to the back porch and connected to Ethernet and it stays connected... If you are going to use this on WIFI... GOOD LUCK! This product is NOT good for anything you care about monitoring full time!
