HOLY WOW!!!!! I had no idea how much faster my mac would be running this adaptor. I use this for work, and have been using my 13" Macbook Pro 13" (2015 vesion) at work hooked up to a 26" monitor. Everything was working fine, however I was unable to print because i needed to be tied into the netowork hard wired. I ordered this as a solution for printing, and thought it might increase my speed a bit but my mac was already running pretty fast..... Boy was I impressed. I'd say that this adaptor increased my speed on a scale from a 4 to a 9. Literally I dont know if it's possible for my computer to run any faster. Web Pages take less time to load than it takes me to type in the URL. 5 BIG stars for this product. it's a little bulky, but the laptop is hidden away so it's not a big deal really. that's not really a negative for me as i'm not tight on space, and i suppose the slightly large size helps to keep me from losing it. Overall I had no idea what I was missing by not plugging in. When you're out and about, wifi is great, but there is no substutiute to a hard wired connection especially through thunderbolt. Literally the fastest connection I've ever experienced using any computer ever (And I'm kind of a tech nerd) Fast delivery and Great Price! LOVE AMAZON!!!!

Big screw up by someone at Amazon

It's not for Thunderbolt 3 Macs. Even though I searched for Thunderbolt 3 to Ethernet adapter it appears in the list. That's outrageous. If you want to use it for a Mac that has Thunderbolt 3 ports you need another adapter to make it work. If you bought it by mistake, (Amazon's mistake very possibly), return it if it's still in the 30 day return period. Get the proper adapter. I agree with someone else who posted that it's unclear what this adapter is for. A photo of the small end, looking down into the plug, would help people to avoid buying this when they don't need it. And the title and description needs to say that's it's for Thunderbolt 2, and not just "Apple Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter", which is reprehensible. When I bought my MacBook Pro from Apple in 2017 and asked for an Ethernet adapter to be included in the order, even the sales person sent me the wrong adapter. Apple was nice to send me for free a second adapter to make the connection go to my Mac to correct their mistake. I think it was a Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter. My Internet connection to my Mac occasionally stops working, and I think it might be due to this adapter. The connection stopped working tonight, so I got out the new adapter. I plugged it in, and Internet was still out. I plugged in the old one and Internet was back. The process of plugging in and out might have made for a better metal to metal connection.
