Not a 2 player game and an odd box
By Aaron M on Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2020
Unfortunately this is not a 2 player game. According to the instructions it requires at least 3 people despite the box saying 2+. It's exactly like the TV show which means it's a fun game to play. Just don't buy it expecting to play with just two people. Also the game box is huge and not designed well for storage. You have to keep the box as there is no way else to store the cards.

Fun game just like the show

This game comes with cards that have a "survey question" and it's responses, just like the Family Feud game show. I played it twice over the weekend, once with 5 players and once with 13. It is definitely more fun with more people, but 5 is enough to have a good time with it. I wouldn't want to play with any less than 5 as one player is the host of the game. I used a dry erase board to write the # of responses and filled them in as they were guessed. You don't really keep score with this game - the team who wins the round gets to keep the card and the winner is determined by the team that gets 5 cards first, or in our case we just kept playing for a couple of hours and the team with the most cards at the end was the winner. We had players ranging in age from 8 to 82. It's not really the best game for kids - the 8 year old struggled on most of the questions, so I would recommend it for teens and up. One of our players was an adult who can't read well. It is difficult to find games he can play that don't require reading and aren't designed for small children. He was able to participate and have fun with this game without feeling left out or bringing attention to his reading difficulty. I was disappointed that the packaging is so large. The only contents of the cube shaped box is a stack of cards (the cards with the surveys, 3 red X's and 3 blue X's, and card with directions on how to play) - it would be much more convenient to be able to store them in a small box like a standard deck of cards. We also came across a few cards with responses that were outdated - like pay phone and stamp machine. Overall it is a lot of fun and will become a staple at family get-togethers.
Great fun if you have the buzz buttons

I bought this for cards. I already had another set of cards and needed more. I took this on a road trip/family vacation. It turned out to be a hit! Made the time in the car go by fast and the driver can play too! While on vacation there were 9 of us and we all played. Ages were from 9 to 50 plus. So definitely appropriate for a wide age range. Family friendly game. I also bought the buzz buttons and dry erase board from the 99cent store. We wrote the number of answers on the board an filled them in as the teams answered. The visual dry erase board was helpful. The buzz things made the game more fun. I would highly recommend getting the other items to go along w it. The cards alone I don't think would be that much fun.
Flexible and fun family game.

We brought this game as a white elephant gift for Christmas. It was the gift that kept on giving because then we played with everyone after exchanging gifts. Everyone kept saying what a great time they had because of the game. It plays very similar to the real show. You can keep score by survey responses or just by round. Very flexible depending on how serious you want to take it. It did seem to require one dedicated person to host. Not sure maybe you could rotate a person to read each round but that would be more complicated.
Looking forward to the fun!

Great for a Family Party

I debated between this and the board game for our Thanksgiving family game. I was very happy I went with this. We used the cards, two buzzers I also purchased on Amazon and the Family Feud music on our phones. Everyone from my 13 year old to m 81 year old father in law had a blast. The card box is easier with a large group than the board game.
Fun but sometimes a little outdated

This was an attempt to mix up our tired party game repertoire and it did a great job at it. It’s a great game for big groups and with the right people we laugh until we cry. One thing we’ve noticed is that some of the questions are pretty dated for instance one card about “what would you hate seeing an out-of-order sign on” had the answer of STAMP MACHINE! Lol!
2 decks of cards

the 2 decks of cards in a large box is misleading. To make it a family game I had to skip some cards that contained questions and answers that weren't appropriate for the grand kids. Using the cards that worked for our family provided entertainment but the topics and answers were outdated. We also used the game on zoom with family who were mostly older and could relate to the topics, so it's good for that purpose. The game provided interaction and an alternative to Trivial Pursuit. Our family came up with a lot of good answers that were not on the cards, so don't be surprised if your answers are not on there.
Waste of Packaging

I am blown away by the size of packaging compared to the size of actual product. I honestly thought there was going to be more in the box. It contains 2 small deck of cards that make up about a quarter of the box. It's called "Family Feud: 'The Game Box'". The contents are no different than that of the $4 decks available at Walmart. I'm glad I only paid $7.55 for this box (I see the price has gone up). That's equal to about to packages of the $4 decks. I gave this 4 stars because the cards are exactly what I was looking for. I just wanted people interested in this product to know that what you see is not what you get. There are no extras included. It is simply 2 decks of small cards.
