SO, after three months of using these I think I can legitimately offer a tested opinion of these laces. I had been considering some of the higher end, various metal core varieties like Iron and Rhino laces, and decided to give these a try since most reviews indicated that there were problems with them being TOO stiff and not staying tied, among other complaints. I'm incredibly tough on boots and boot laces, usually wearing out the best of boots in about a year and finally giving up on laces after two to three months of dealing with fraying, breakage or other issues. Three months in, even considering the tremendous amount of abuse I put them through with exposure to various shop chemicals and solvents, construction and outdoor grounds maintenance, wet and snowy conditions as well as repeated full immersion, these do not show any signs of wear at all so far. I seriously doubt I'll need to buy another set of laces for the life of this boot, even factoring in an extension of life via sole replacement. Especially since they came with two pairs and the first pair still seem almost like new. Hands down the best boot laces I've ever used and I've used a lot of different brands and styles. They are "slightly" stiff, but nowhere near too stiff to tie or to stay tied. I've never once had them come undone and unlike previous types of laces I've used, I've found no need to double tie these laces. A single regular tie job stays tied all day. Fantastic product and I absolutely have no affiliation with the manufacturer or with Amazon. Just a normal guy who usually beats the hell out of everything I put on my feet. Edit: It's now 2019 and I'm still on the first pair. And don't get the idea that it's because I'm not hard on them because I've gone through two pair of boots, totally worn down, one pair were resoled, and the laces are still practically like new. I'll never buy any other lace again. Edit #2: So it's crazy, but now it's the end of 2025 and I've just ordered my fourth pair of boots since buying these laces and the original pair I used on the first pair of boots will be getting moved to the new boots. I have still not had to use the second pair of laces although I think I'm going to order another pair of boots so I can rotate them with each other when one pair gets wet or has to be cleaned, so that they will last a lot longer which they will if you don't allow them to stay wet. Best laces I've ever seen. Edit 3: As of January 2026, am ordering another set of these. Not because I NEED them, but because I almost expect that with the one pair that I've been using all this time that I'll likely retire this month and start using the second pair of the first set of them I bought, and these new ones I ordered, I'm probably never going to need to buy any other boot laces for the rest of my life, and for sure at least I'll have several pairs of these fantastic laces on hand just in case, like has happened with a lot of stuff I learned to like and then, couldn't get anymore, I won't need to worry about that. Buy these laces, you will not be sad. Promise.
