Good for the Money

Not for audiophiles, but great value regardless. It's a nice integrated package that eliminates the complication of a component system. I wanted a simple system for a furnished vacation property that I rent. This thing plays CDs, FM Radio, as well as movies. And, it eliminates all that remote control mess that typically follows a component system. For a conventional living room with 8 ft ceilings, this puts out all the sound I really wanted. I was actually surprised at the depth of the bass response. For the money, I didn't have high expectations. But this was the perfect system for my application.

Factory tested? I don’t think so, unless that “factory” is located in somebody’s garage!

Installed two days ago. The system does turn on with either the remote control OR from the front box push button. Put new batteries in the remote, still no response. I can see a small red light flash on the DVD box when I press the on/off power button, but the player does not turn on. If I unplug the unit and plug back in, the unit will power up. I will continue to test this system for another week or so. If it does not start to operate correctly, I will be forced to return it. The speakers that come with this system are not very good, but acceptable.
