Canon Pixma MG3620 Wireless All-in-One Printer Review: A Budget-Friendly Powerhouse
By Lady Ruth on Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2025
If you're in the market for an affordable, high-quality all-in-one printer that balances performance, convenience, and wireless functionality, the Canon Pixma MG3620 is an excellent choice. This compact printer delivers impressive print quality, seamless connectivity, and versatile features that cater to home users, students, and small office setups. Design & Build Quality The Canon Pixma MG3620 has a sleek, space-saving design that fits comfortably in tight spaces. Available in black, white, or red, it blends well with any home or office decor. Despite its lightweight build, it feels sturdy and well-constructed. The control panel is minimalistic, which keeps things simple, although some users might prefer a display screen for added convenience. Print Quality & Performance One of the biggest strengths of this printer is its exceptional print quality. Whether you're printing documents, photos, or graphics, the MG3620 delivers sharp text and vibrant colors. Canon’s FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technology ensures detailed prints, making it a solid choice for casual photo printing as well. Black & White Documents: Crisp and clear text, suitable for schoolwork, business reports, and everyday printing needs. Color Prints: Rich, accurate colors with excellent saturation, great for presentations and graphics. Photo Printing: Produces high-quality images with good color accuracy, especially when using Canon’s photo paper. Although print speed isn't the fastest on the market (around 9.9 ppm for black and 5.7 ppm for color), it is more than adequate for most home and student needs. Wireless & Mobile Printing The Canon Pixma MG3620 excels in wireless printing, making it a great option for those who want to print from their devices without dealing with cables. It supports: Wi-Fi connectivity for easy wireless printing. AirPrint (for Apple devices) and Google Cloud Print (for Android users). Canon PRINT app, allowing users to print, scan, and check ink levels from their smartphones. Auto Duplex Printing, which helps save paper by printing on both sides automatically. Setting up the wireless connection is straightforward, and once configured, the printer works smoothly with laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Scanning & Copying As an all-in-one printer, the MG3620 includes scanning and copying features. The scanner produces high-resolution scans (up to 1200 x 2400 dpi), ensuring clear and detailed digital copies of documents or photos. Copying is quick and simple, though there is no automatic document feeder (ADF), meaning you have to place pages manually on the scanner bed. Ink Efficiency & Cost The printer uses a two-cartridge system (black & tri-color), which helps keep costs down. However, frequent color printing can lead to higher ink expenses since you need to replace the entire color cartridge even if only one color runs out. Canon’s XL ink cartridges are available for those who want to reduce long-term costs. Pros & Cons Summary Pros: ✅ Affordable price for an all-in-one wireless printer. ✅ Excellent print quality for both text and photos. ✅ Compact design, perfect for small spaces. ✅ Seamless wireless printing with mobile support. ✅ Auto Duplex Printing saves paper. Cons: ❌ No LCD screen, which could make standalone operation easier. ❌ No Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) for bulk scanning. ❌ Two-cartridge system might increase ink costs for frequent color printing. Final Verdict: A Great Budget Printer for Everyday Use The Canon Pixma MG3620 is a fantastic choice for students, families, and home office users looking for an affordable, high-quality printer with wireless capabilities. It delivers sharp prints, mobile convenience, and a compact design—all without breaking the bank. While it may lack some advanced office features, it excels in everyday printing needs and is a reliable option for anyone seeking a budget-friendly all-in-one printer. ⭐ Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐ Would you like me to tailor this review for a specific audience, such as students or office users? 😊

I should have listened

Admittedly, set-up for this CANON MG3600 PIXMA PRINTER was not intuitive - but after referring to 3 YouTube videos, I got it up & running. I successfully printed 5 return labels, applauded my abilities, wildly denigrated the whining idiots who'd posted negative reviews, and went on with life. 2 months later, I attempted a print job using both sides of the paper, and it jammed. I cleared the jam, reset the printer, cleared the job from my laptop, and initiated the same job anew - this time asking for print on a single side. The printer - still fully, wirelessly, connected - spit out 2 clean sheets of paper, made a few noises, stopped, and generated an error message on my laptop indicating printer was jammed. I went to the Canon website and read their troubleshooting suggestions. I also spent some time on Google, where the following phrases auto-populated in rapid succession: - canon mg3600 series printer not responding - canon PIXMA stopped working - canon PIXMA not printing wireless - canon PIXMA wireless not working - canon printer not responding WIN10 - canon mg3600 not printing IOS - canon printer not working with MAC - canon printer not working with DELL - canon printer not working with PC I began troubleshooting. I took printer back to factory resets, reset the printer, cleared the jam, cleared the job from my laptop, and initiated the single-sided job anew. The printer spit out 2 clean sheets of paper, made a few more noises, stopped, and generated an error message on my laptop indicating printer was jammed. I deleted software/drivers and reinstalled, cleared the jam, cleared the job from my laptop, and initiated the same job anew. The printer spit out 2 clean sheets of paper, made a few more noises, stopped, and generated an error message on my laptop indicating printer was jammed. I turned off the printer and turned it back on on, cleared the jam, cleared the job from my laptop, and initiated the same job anew. The printer spit out 2 clean sheets of paper, made a few more noises, stopped, and generated an error message on my laptop indicating printer was jammed. I unplugged the printer, plugged it back in, cleared the jam, cleared the job from my laptop, and initiated the same job anew. The printer spit out 2 clean sheets of paper, made a few more noises, stopped, and generated an error message on my laptop indicating printer was jammed. I unplugged the printer, waited overnight, and plugged back in, cleared the jam, cleared the job from my laptop, and initiated the same job anew. The printer spit out 2 clean sheets of paper, made a few more noises, stopped, and generated an error message on my laptop indicating printer was jammed. I tried calling the CANON HELP LINE. After 20 minutes navigating the IVR, the uncontrollable, hysterical laughter started. I unplugged the printer, lifted it approx 4 ft in the air, and slammed in into the floor. I'm not optimistic about further troubleshooting.
