Canon Pixma MG3620 Wireless All-in-One Printer Review: A Budget-Friendly Powerhouse
By Lady Ruth on Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2025
If you're in the market for an affordable, high-quality all-in-one printer that balances performance, convenience, and wireless functionality, the Canon Pixma MG3620 is an excellent choice. This compact printer delivers impressive print quality, seamless connectivity, and versatile features that cater to home users, students, and small office setups. Design & Build Quality The Canon Pixma MG3620 has a sleek, space-saving design that fits comfortably in tight spaces. Available in black, white, or red, it blends well with any home or office decor. Despite its lightweight build, it feels sturdy and well-constructed. The control panel is minimalistic, which keeps things simple, although some users might prefer a display screen for added convenience. Print Quality & Performance One of the biggest strengths of this printer is its exceptional print quality. Whether you're printing documents, photos, or graphics, the MG3620 delivers sharp text and vibrant colors. Canon’s FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technology ensures detailed prints, making it a solid choice for casual photo printing as well. Black & White Documents: Crisp and clear text, suitable for schoolwork, business reports, and everyday printing needs. Color Prints: Rich, accurate colors with excellent saturation, great for presentations and graphics. Photo Printing: Produces high-quality images with good color accuracy, especially when using Canon’s photo paper. Although print speed isn't the fastest on the market (around 9.9 ppm for black and 5.7 ppm for color), it is more than adequate for most home and student needs. Wireless & Mobile Printing The Canon Pixma MG3620 excels in wireless printing, making it a great option for those who want to print from their devices without dealing with cables. It supports: Wi-Fi connectivity for easy wireless printing. AirPrint (for Apple devices) and Google Cloud Print (for Android users). Canon PRINT app, allowing users to print, scan, and check ink levels from their smartphones. Auto Duplex Printing, which helps save paper by printing on both sides automatically. Setting up the wireless connection is straightforward, and once configured, the printer works smoothly with laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Scanning & Copying As an all-in-one printer, the MG3620 includes scanning and copying features. The scanner produces high-resolution scans (up to 1200 x 2400 dpi), ensuring clear and detailed digital copies of documents or photos. Copying is quick and simple, though there is no automatic document feeder (ADF), meaning you have to place pages manually on the scanner bed. Ink Efficiency & Cost The printer uses a two-cartridge system (black & tri-color), which helps keep costs down. However, frequent color printing can lead to higher ink expenses since you need to replace the entire color cartridge even if only one color runs out. Canon’s XL ink cartridges are available for those who want to reduce long-term costs. Pros & Cons Summary Pros: ✅ Affordable price for an all-in-one wireless printer. ✅ Excellent print quality for both text and photos. ✅ Compact design, perfect for small spaces. ✅ Seamless wireless printing with mobile support. ✅ Auto Duplex Printing saves paper. Cons: ❌ No LCD screen, which could make standalone operation easier. ❌ No Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) for bulk scanning. ❌ Two-cartridge system might increase ink costs for frequent color printing. Final Verdict: A Great Budget Printer for Everyday Use The Canon Pixma MG3620 is a fantastic choice for students, families, and home office users looking for an affordable, high-quality printer with wireless capabilities. It delivers sharp prints, mobile convenience, and a compact design—all without breaking the bank. While it may lack some advanced office features, it excels in everyday printing needs and is a reliable option for anyone seeking a budget-friendly all-in-one printer. ⭐ Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐ Would you like me to tailor this review for a specific audience, such as students or office users? 😊

It worked for 5 weeks. My hubby who fixed computers in the 1970s was able to fix it YAY.

This was original review Feb 2025. Just because I have BA AA BS degrees in computer stuff doesn't mean I can hook up printers and other hardware...just saying. Last year I got 3 different printers before I got one to work. This year that one ran out of ink - I thought it would be no big deal to change the ink. AH HA - nope. What a waste of money. It shall remain nameless but rhymes with mother. It may have been the Canadian version - but it sent to Florida and printed English... I got this cute little red $49 Cannon printer and I am VERY GLAD I kept the hard wire connector wire from the old printer because it was not included and I am not ready to connect to my phone (I am in a rural area so the cell coverage is weak.) The directions were clear, it warned me if you hard wire connect to your computer you probably won't be able to wi-fi connect and sure enough it didn't do it. But IT PRINTED a document in less than an hour from out of the box! Then I printed a color document and it looks great also! I am so impressed by this great Canon printer. WOW. I will update if it gets wonky, someone said the initial ink supply is very small so I also bought the replacement ink cartridges. I only took one star off because I had to supply the connection cable that used to come with peripheral devices back in the olden days. This is so inexpensive I might buy another one just to connect via wi-fi. Very happy customer. A week later and I am still happy! It prints, text looks great! NOW IT IS FEB 15 AND ONE PIECE OF PAPER GOT STUCK! It is trash! I cannot remove the paper and cannot return the printer. Every time the electricity does a power flex (and we live in the country rural so it does it at least weekly) the printer forgets how it's connected. BIG NOTE IF YOU CONNECT IT VIA WI-FI YOU CANNOT CONNECT IT DIRECTLY TO YOUR PRINTER, IT WILL NOT PRINT. WHEN THE POWER GOOFS UP, IT RESETS THAT and quits printing. I wish I had paid more attention to the other owner review that said this has problems. THAT IS THE UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE CENTURY. I am 30 miles from a print source - or I can do sneaker net to my husbands ratty old HP printer he got from me when i was fed up with their pirate ink service. This is probably a lousy boat anchor too! The internet was no help either. Hubby used to fix computers, and build printers, he pressed some latches on the bottom feed tray and get the torn piece of paper out. The print quality is still shabby, but I am tired of buying poor quality printers or ones that hyjack you for ink.
