Will not fast charge anymore after 3+ months (updated below)
By Daniel on Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2018
I've had this charger for about 4 months now. I'm not using it every day but would say 4 to 5 days a week it gets pulled out. Usually when I'm traveling away from the office for the day. I do really like the capacity. I can charge my s7 a good 4 times before the pack is empty. Number of times it charges my phone really does vary based on the initial charge the phone started with say 30% vs 2% and my usage during the charging period. Over all I'm happy with it at this point but a do have a disappointment. My problem with my pack at this point is the lifespan it looks like this product may have. I will generally just plug it into my computer to recharge the pack. Over the last few weeks I've noticed that the charger has taken a lot longer to charge my phone than before. So I did a few more tests and it appears the unit no longer fast charges my phone. It still does a slow charge but since I upgraded phones a few rounds back and moved to phones that fast charge a old "slow" charge is really slow. Almost to the point that it is no longer worth using this charger unless as a last resort. So yes it can still charge the phone but no longer does a fast charge. I've even taken my phone cable that plugs into my AC adapter and fast charges my phone and used that cord on the power pack to make sure it wasn't the cord but same cord iin the AC wall adapter fast charges but in the power pack slow charges. Pros: -Worked well for the first 3 1/2 months. -Good number of recharges from the unit. -Like the case it comes with. -lights on the side showing capacity left. Cons: -No longer fast charges So If you are looking for a decent phone battery pack this does a good job and seems well built. Maybe I just had a defect issue in mine. But at this point as I get shopping for a new one sometime soon I'll probably be looking at a different brand hoping for a longer lasting product. *Update:* So I have been in contact with Anker costumer service and can say they do have very good and helpful service. They gave me some directions to test the product to confirm it was not functioning like it should. After I did these tests they went ahead and sent a replacement charger right out to me. And instead of sending me the exact same one they sent me and updated version which works really well. I can say I'm back to charging the phone quickly on the new charger. Last time I charged my S7 it went from 3% to 100% in just over an hour and some mins. I didn't use it a ton during the charge but that is very much in the expected range for my quick charging expectations. As I work with a lot of technology in my job I can say that things do break at times. It is hard for every product that comes off a line to work perfectly. The warranty and costumer services is far and away above what I expected to find on this product. These are the types of companies I seek to continue to buy products from at work when I find one with good costumer service. If you are debating between this product and another brand I would definitely get the Anker product if only for the costumer service even if I had to pay a little bit more.

Second time purchase and second chance, maybe last if time will tell.

Tbh idk why I'm buying another. The first one I bought, broke within a month of buying it and idk how it did. I mostly left it in its box, and it doesn't help how my lazy ass didn't tell the company or write a review about it and now its most likely too late and is pointless to do. I asked friends which to buy and they recommended other brands yet I keep coming back for the less weight and the high capacity. I just got my second portable charger which is this device and so far its heavier than I thought, but i hope it will last longer. What I like so far is that there's 2 lights and a half when I pressed the button, out of the box which is good. I really need this one to last because I'm going on a trip soon which I need it for, and even though there's many other cheap ones that have much more capacity, it either doesn't have high\good reviews, it is very heavy, or both.Just like the saying, with cheap products come cheap quality. I'm kind of sad that I didn't notice that its a USB charger and not a USB-C because I bought cables to go with it but meh, I have other USB cables so I don't mind as much since I'm planing to buy a phone with a USB-C charging port and how everything is slowly switching to USB-C. I know its my fault that I didn't ask for a refund or new one when I could have, and now with my messed up brain think it was a long time ago or at least past the warranty so I doubt I can get a new one, and even though I do ask that if there is someone that reads this, is from Anker I hope something can be worked out or check if the warranty is still available or help me check, since idk how. I wont put too much mind on it since its mostly my fault though adn as I said before just hope this device will last at least a year. Also if you or any readers were wondering I bought a (Anker PowerCore 26800 Portable Charger, 26800mAh External Battery with Dual Input Port and Double-Speed Recharging, 3 USB Ports for iPhone, iPad, Samsung Galaxy, Android and Other Smart Devices) before. I might come back in a year or 6 months or if anything happens to change this or add on to it as I see others do. (Edit) OMG WOW I thought I wouldn't be coming back in a few months but Anker responded to my problem very quickly and got in touch with me. They told me that I could still get a retry/ new compatible charger if it was still in the 18 month warranty. They sent me a email asking for the serial number and shipping address for clarification and said that they would get me a new one and then check in 7 days to see if its up and running still. I'm both really happy and surprised on how Anker helps their customers, even though I know its for more to trust it and to buy more from it. And it worked, at least for me. I'm planning to buy more in the future from them, yet first clarify that I'm buying the right cables and tech since im not so smart in that compartment.
