Make sure your service provider will allow you to add this to your system.

Starting with the Good. Easy to install and program, do set the Swing at +- 1F, the overshoot at 1 or 2 and the smart humidity at auto. Since my wife and I both work varying schedules, we like the convenience of setting the HVAC (and everything in the Alarm panel) from anywhere in the world. BEFORE you buy and install this, make sure your service provider will allow you to attach it to your system. I had to go all the way to their corporate office because my service provided would not install it (said they do not have an HVAC specialist). It is a simple Z wave attachment and once again, it works great.

Hidden Fees!
By Christopher A. on Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2023
I recently had the misfortune of investing in the Alarm.com Smart Thermostat. The experience left me disappointed and frustrated. The installation process itself was smooth; however, the real headache began when I attempted to link the thermostat to the Alarm.com app and learned of undisclosed subscription fees. After successfully connecting the thermostat to my Alarm.com alarm base, I was informed by my security provider that additional monthly charges were required to access virtually all the thermostat’s functionality. It’s possible I missed it, but if not this piece of information should be disclosed. Frustrated, I removed the Alarm.com Smart Thermostat from my home and sought out alternative options. Enter Ecobee, a brand that not only offers comparable functionality but does so without imposing additional monthly fees. The Ecobee products are more expensive, but factoring in the monthly fee the costs are comparable after a few months.
