Looks good, but life-span is s***.

Update as of 3/4/2019: I take back everything I said about this wine key. Although this review is very old and will probably go unseen, I still have to update. After leaving my 1 star review, the seller contacted me and sent out a replacement wine key quickly. I must have received a lemon the first round because the replacement has turned out to be rock solid. To this day it is always my go to wine key and I've opened well over 500 bottles with it and it still looks and works as if it is new. Once it gotles out you best believe I'll be buying another.Previous Review: This wine key sucks. Im a waiter at a Seafood restaurant and open my fair share of wine. While the company i work for provides us with a basic wine key, I decided to find one that stands out a bit more, and this Ebony wood instantly grabbed my attention. Price looked good and reviews were top notch so what the hell, might as well try it. After using it for 2 weeks all i was left with was a hazard in my pocket. The arm just flops around loosely, and whats even better, the knife to remove wine bottle foil also became loose. Finally after stabbing myself countless times taking it out of my pocket i have retired it and moved on to a cheaper wine key that i bought in a local wine store. New one only cost me $6 and works much better than this. New one is up to 3 months now and still no issues. DO NOT BUY THIS WINE KEY.

Had to lower rating after second defective model
By David in Albuquerque on Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2016
I generally open a bottle of wine per night and always use a waiters corkscrew. . My first corkscrew was defective in that the screw did not lock in place and the two step retraction arm did not function properly as the first step did not retract after use. I contacted customer support and after a few e-mails back and forth, I was immediately sent a replacement that was deliver on a Sunday. The new unit work fine, has a nice look and feel about it. I can recommend this corkscrew. They are compact, simple to use, and very portable.Update on 1/29/16I must say that I do not understand all the 5 star ratings for this product. As mentioned, I received a replacement unit after my first corkscrew was defective. One of the problems was that the screw device did not lock in position. The second unit failed after less than a month and upon inspection of the design, there does not appear to be a lever to lock in the screw. It now swings freely making it harder to insert the screw in the cork. I also find that the foil cutter is a not serrated and doesn't always cut the foil. Finally, the screw itself is not quite as sharp as it should be at the point. I received an OXO waiter's corkscrew at the same time (Amazon stocks) It has a nice cushioned handle, the screw is sharp and coated so it inserts more easily into the cork. The foil cutter has an indent for the neck of the bottle, and the screw locks in position. I guess I will use the HiCoup for emergencies but the OXO works better and it is about the same price. I do not feel that is worth the time to contact Hi Coup's customer service again. Quality control is lacking for their China made units.
