Hello: I have had many tablets including Apple, several other Kindles and I also have a Samsung Galaxy 4 Tablet. I have read other reviews about this Kindle 10. People have said it has a not so good pixel resolution and a slow drag on speed. These people were comparing it to the Samsung Galaxy Tablet. I did not like their reviews or opinions. If you are trying to make a $500 tablet out of a $229 tablet than don't! Maybe you do not belong in the Amazon family! Just go buy your $500 tablet and be done with it! I also read that Amazon decided to get into low end tablet production! What a sorry thing to say! I do not know about you, but if you are not rich like I am not, it gets very hard to keep paying $500-$1000 or more, every time a new gadget comes out! I am now on fixed income and it is very hard for me! So, with the Kindle 10 H.D. hitting the scene, I think it was a very nice thing that Amazon did! Amazon did not go into low end tablet business! Let me clear that up right now! Amazon cared about the rest of us! The poor and middle class! Not just for the rich! However, they are more than welcome in the Amazon gadget family if they care to partake! Now, let me begin the review! Amazon created a budget friendly tablet! I got mine yesterday and I LOVE IT!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE It! Also, I read that Amazon created this tablet just to get people to join Amazon Prime and that the only apps you can run are from Amazon's App Store! I have Amazon Prime but I have never had anyone from Amazon ask me to join. I have never been pushed to buy anything from Amazon in any way! Also, you can side load other app stores on to Kindle 10 H.D. if you wish. However, Amazon now offers App Store Under Ground, which offers over 20,000 free apps! Even the stuff inside the apps are free! So, why would you need another store! 20,000 free apps is awesome! Just awesome! That is why I purchased it! No other competitor that I know of offers that, yet! What is so neat about the under ground is: You know, you usually see the exact same apps on all app stores. However, with this app store under ground, you see tons of apps I have never seen! I even found 2 different apps, giving away tons of free books from the Kindle Store! The things you can do with this Kindle 10 tablet, leaves the competition behind! It really does! I also read about complaints, that some people did not like the tabs. At the top of the tablet, there are words.Iike, Apps, Games, Books, Video, Music, etc.Why wouldn't anyone want to know where there stuff is, as easily as possible? For those who don't like it, it is called ORGANIZATION? Maybe you should try it sometime! They have also integrated a place for new stuff. They show you a blank space and tell you, "This is were your newest books will be" or "This is where your newest music will be". As far as the size goes. The 10 inch size is wonderful! I love it! The tablet itself is rectangular instead of square. That is because it is a wide screen display. Now, I will admit that longer shape does make it awkward and a bit hard to hold. But, I would rather have the wide screen for the H.D. display. Again, This awkwardness can be rectified easily. You can buy a cover for it, that folds up in the back and makes the tablet stand up. Mine came with one of those. However, I purchased mine at H.S.N., so I could get a payment plan and the fold up case came with it. If you do not want to purchase a cover, another great thing you can get is called, The Grand Stand. It is a big, flat thing with three sections. It folds into a stand, with a lip at the bottom, to keep stuff from falling down. You can use this tablet on it and many other uses. The Grand Stand can be purchased at Amazon. It is not real expensive. Some people complain about the shiny plastic being used on the back of the device. Personally, This does not bother me at all. I will be looking at the front of my tablet, I will not be looking at the back. The picture quality to me is beautiful, ABSOLUTELY beautiful, especially in H.D! If the picture does not seem bright enough, or is too bright, go to settings on your main screen and select display. You can adjust the brightness there. Another thing I love about this tablet is, on your main screen ( Push the button in the middle, on the botom of your tablet, to get to the main screen.) The Amazon, Music App, Kindle Reading App and Video app are already there for you, so you don't have to down load them! The only con I have is that this tablet only has Wi-Fi. It does not have mobile 4G Lite. But if you have a smart phone you can teather and share your mobile 4G Lite with other devices! So, you can use your phone's mobile connection with this tablet. If you want this tablet, but are hesitant, because you do not know how to tether, just type in how to share your smart phone connection with other devices online, on the internet and it will explain it. I have very limited Wi-Fi, so I like to tether to use this tablet. This is an absolutely awesome tablet! I highly recommend it to everyone!

And again. I have deleted all of my photos reduced personal apps to three King Candy crush apps, facebook and messenger and an unused roku app with two misc games. These are it. I tried to open and read books, again last night and they all closed themselves repeatedly. I have stored books and apps on my sd card recommended and purchased from amazon and it hasnt made things better. Save your mind and buy something else. Ps disabling ad cookies makes ALL games freeze whether they are. Amazon underground or not. Fy amazon fire MOdiFYING MY Review: Out of the box this is a wonderful tablet, sleek and large, easy to hold and use. Drawbacks: Accessing photos while offline is 99% of the time impossible without a file exploring app. This is ridiculous since the photos are stored on the device. It seems that software writers are trying to keep you literally online at all times, hard to do with a WiFi only device. Most non-Amazon apps are not updated as quickly via the Amazon App Store as they would be through G00gle Play. For example, my King apps of Candy Crush Soda will show updates as available for a week before it hits the Amazon Store. And when everything has been updated my device periodically will crash certain Apps, mainly Candy Crush and other King apps and tell me that "This app is unavailable without the Amazon Appstore. Now can you tell me why Kindle Fire would say that the Appstore is not installed on itself? Has drag and lag issues, even after I purchased the Kindle recommended SD Card. All SD compatible apps have been moved over and file storage has been transferred and there's pleeeenty of memory left on both the tablet and the SD card, but the darn thing still freezes, and does slow mo on ABSOLUTELY EVERY APP, GAME OR VIDEO THAT IS PLAYED. I HAVE PLENTY OF FREE MEMORY SO WHATS THE DEAL? COULD IT BE THE TRACKING COOKIES THAT ARE REQUIRED IN ORDER TO PLAY ANY OF THE AMAZON UNDERGROUND APPS? IF SO, SINCE WHEN HAS CANDY CRUSH BEEN EXCLUSIVELY AN AMAZON UNDERGROUND APP? Amazon Kindle Fire HD 10 has the option of turning off the tracking and all the "Kindle Advertizing" but if you do, you will no longer be able to use apps that should be free anyway. Oh and I'm assuming the reason you can't get apps for Chrome or other Google products is because you would eventually turn your Kindle Fire into a Fire-Google hybrid. Fire 10 software writers need to work a little later in the evening and make the experience worth their advertising inconvenience and then update this for everyone. See my initial review here: This is an excellent tool and toy! Large but not too heavy, love the expandability and bells and whistles. I will let someone else tell you all of the wonderful things to be said. For me, the greatest drawback for this tablet is the fact that I cannot download and use ANY Google apps. Get this, it is an android based tablet. Lets face it, the Amazon Underground is fantastic, but if you are big on the popular google play apps which you've bought and paid for or miss dreadfully, you might be out of luck. I recommend borrowing one of these Fire 10's and comparing your favorite apps from google play to the Amazon store products. Other than about 8 - 10 apps that I definitely miss, this little big guy is over all a keeper, tough, capable and the unique ability to view and edit documents then via Amazon DOC app you can read it like a book. Very compatible with popular Microsoft products and just stutters a little bit on adobe pdf now and then, nothing Chrome couldn't fix... if you could actually GET Chrome. Dang.
