Great bag, great price
By Drew on Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2017
Great light bag that makes getting to your camera very easy. Given that your DSLR and lenses are probably considerably more expensive than the bag they're in, investing in a good bag is a no brainer. I could buy any bag I want, but I probably wouldn't go for anything else because all of my needs are met here. Pros: Excellent quality: - Little details make this bag great. On the chest strap there is a small elastic band on it to keep the excess material from the strap in place, giving it a clean look (something that is overlooked on even some other expensive backpacks) - There are little places to tuck away the waist strap if you're not using it (again small, but a nice touch since I won't be using that much) - Well padded camera bag section on the bottom. Ease of use: - Great to have the rain cover when you need it here in rainy Hawai'i - The side camera access is very easy to use and makes it easy to stow away, and take out your camera when you need it. Utility: - Ample space to hold everything you're usually going to use. In my pack, I am currently holding (camera gear only, I'm not even using the top pouch at the moment): 1 Canon 80d DSLR body, a Canon EF-S 17-55mm lens (quite big), a small 24mm pancake lens, Rode video micro with shockmount and deadcat, Speedlite (430), and a pouch with an ND filter. There is also a little pocket for SD cards, and I have two spare batteries up top. Cons: - No problems yet, but after constantly pulling out the velcro dividers, I could foresee some issues with those stitches coming loose. Again, no problems yet, but could be an issue. - This bag seems like the perfect size on my back, but let's face it, you're always going to kind of want more space, but then your bag would be ridiculously heavy. The section where the DSLR goes (by the way using 80d not a full frame), is just barely big enough for the body to fit. Would feel a little more confident if the body were in further and if I knew it wouldn't fall out. (Usually not a problem since you are holding the bag in such a way that it opens upward, but still) - Going back to that body area, if you look at it, the body of the camera actually doesn't touch the sides, which means that when you wear the bag, the camera body is not supported, which in turn means that the balance point in the bag falls onto the point were the lens connects to the body. (hasn't been a problem so far, but I wish they would fix this) Conclusion: This is a great bag and I feel like it is actually the perfect size. To give you an idea, I could put the 80d with the 17-55mm f2.8 canon lens (which is big) with the lens hood (which is even bigger) in the camera pocket. You could whip that whole big thing out, however you can't fit a DSLR with any external mic attached inside of the bag (sorry, I tried). Even if I were given something more expensive, I'm not sure that I would use anything else, because as I said before this bag meets all of my needs currently. Is it perfect, no, but it's pretty darn close.

Well Made, Not Well Designed
By MickeyFan on Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2019
Well made, not well designed. First of all, the weight. This backpack empty weighs more than I expected. With a D750, a 50mm 1.8, 24mm 2.8 and 85mm 1.8 this bag feels substantially heavy. Mind you, the D750 is a light camera and the three small prime lenses I mentioned are small an lightweight as well. Second, the placement area for the camera in the lower part of the backpack does not allow a proper fit for a dslr. There is almost no space between the back of the dslr body and the zipper of this backpack. It's almost as if this bag was designed for a very thin point and shoot. Moving the padded inserts does not fix the problem. The length of the inserts does not allow you to move them more than a fraction of an inch. I also own several other cameras in addition to my Nikon D750; Nikon D200, Canon 7dmk2, Canon T3i, Canon T6. None of these cameras fit properly as they are too thick. Even my tiny Lumix G5 mirrorless is a tight squeeze! The inserts are not as versatile as with other Lowepro bags I own. Third, the bag is so tall it tends to bend loosing its straight back surface. It curves forward causing the back padding to bulge in the middle. Fourth, the protective rain cover hidden under the backpack is secured in a pocket with only two small pieces of velcro, unlike my other Lowepro bags that secure them with a zipper. Good luck trying to fold it flat back into the sleeve. Looks like the stitching is good, the materials used are of high quality and the overall construction of this backpack is far superior to other backpacks I have seen. Unfortunately the design (or lack of any thought behind the design) makes this backpack unusable for anyone with a dslr. I really tried to like this backpack as I am (was) a big fan of Lowepro, but I can't because of the design.
