UPDATE: DO NOT BUY!
By dkwalton on Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2017
I have purchased two of these. Both have broken down after 2 to 3 months of sporadic use, maybe once or twice a week. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Disregard this earlier post -- Excellent with one caveat. If you let your stubble grow out too long this shaver may not work for you. It is, essentially, a finishing shaver (like the Wahl 5 Star Finale) used by professional barbers for hair trimming and beards. If your stubble grows out too long you will have to pre-shave with a suitable device (such as an Andis or Wahl trimmer) before deploying the Andis 17150 Profoil, the Wahl 5 Star Finale or the Wahl 5 Star Shaver for that matter. I got this instead of the comparable Wahl 5 Star Finale for five reasons -- 1) The Andis is much less expensive but is as good (or better) a performer (at least less expensive right now on Amazon, 09-07-2017) 2) The foils: The Wahl shaving foils are one piece and do not float as independently as do the Andis. The Wahl foils are also very thin and the foil holes do not extend all the way from front to back. Because non-professionals tend to put way too much pressure on the foils, the Wahl foils tend to crack and break more easily than the Andis foils which are much sturdier. 3) The Andis cutters move back and forth independently in a counter motion with one cutter going left while the other goes right. The Wahl cutters are e not independent and move together back and forth. 4) The Andis rotary motor and counter moving cutters are quieter and seem to be more efficient than the Wahl. 5) Lastly, unless you purchase the Wahl from and authorized dealer it is my understanding that they will not perform any warranty repair service. (Someone correct me if I am wrong about this, I heard it by word of mouth on YouTube.) If you expect to remove heavier growth without pre-shaving prep, you will have to get an aggressive multi-head rotary or one of those multi-cutter foil shavers which run in the $150 - $450 range. It is that or get a straight razor or an aggressive single blade, open comb safety razor. In which case you can dispense with the electric shaver.
