Distressed Brown Wood 2-Tier Tray

I was thrilled to see cream two-tiered trays for around $16. I ordered 4. The good: Not difficult to put together. The item appears to be made of a wooden material rather than plastic. Again, great price. I paid $50 last year for 2 from another retailer. Those 2 were more expensive but very high quality. I didn’t expect these to be perfect at such a low price. The bad: Only 1 of the 4 was sturdy; the others were a bit wobbly. They would still be fine for decorations or products, but I wouldn’t put them in an area where the wobbling would be an issue. The ugly: There are visible seams on all of them, but on 2 of them, it was less noticeable. On all of them, small pieces of paint had chipped off. This didn’t look to be intentionally distressed. Definitely looked like a mistake. One had a chunk of wood missing on the handle. We decided to keep the best 2 and get replacements for the worst 2. Now, for the worst part, the replacements came and they are in worse shape than the 2 we sent back. We worked with Amazon and they are refunding us what we paid once we return them. If you plan to use the two-tiered tray in a corner, you might not care about the seams not aligning. You could hide that side. If you don’t mind having some paint that’s chipped off, you might be okay buying these. If you plan to use this to actually hold supplies rather than be decorative, you might like these. Lastly, I’m not sure I’d plan to give this as a gift unless you are crafty and can doctor up a piece that needs TLC.
